    Study on Noncommutative Representations of Galilean Generators

    The representations of Galilean generators are constructed on a space where both position and momentum coordinates are noncommutating operators. A dynamical model invariant under noncommutative phase space transformations is constructed. The Dirac brackets of this model reproduce the original noncommutative algebra. Also, the generators in terms of noncommutative phase space variables are abstracted from this model in a consistent manner. Finally, the role of Jacobi identities is emphasised to produce the noncommuting structure that occurs when an electron is subjected to a constant magnetic field and Berry curvature.Comment: Title changed, new references added, published in Int.     MicroRNA and transcription factor co-regulatory networks and subtype classification of seminoma and non-seminoma in testicular germ cell tumors

    Recent studies have revealed that feed-forward loops (FFLs) as regulatory motifs have synergistic roles in cellular systems and their disruption may cause diseases including cancer. FFLs may include two regulators such as transcription factors (TFs) and microRNAs (miRNAs). In this study, we extensively investigated TF and miRNA regulation pairs, their FFLs, and TF-miRNA mediated regulatory networks in two major types of testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT): seminoma (SE) and non-seminoma (NSE). Specifically, we identified differentially expressed mRNA genes and miRNAs in 103 tumors using the transcriptomic data from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Next, we determined significantly correlated TF-gene/miRNA and miRNA-gene/TF pairs with regulation direction. Subsequently, we determined 288 and 664 dysregulated TF-miRNA-gene FFLs in SE and NSE, respectively. By constructing dysregulated FFL networks, we found that many hub nodes (12 out of 30 for SE and 8 out of 32 for NSE) in the top ranked FFLs could predict subtype-classification (Random Forest classifier, average accuracy ≄90%). These hub molecules were validated by an independent dataset. Our network analysis pinpointed several SE-specific dysregulated miRNAs (miR-200c-3p, miR-25-3p, and miR-302a-3p) and genes (EPHA2, JUN, KLF4, PLXDC2, RND3, SPI1, and TIMP3) and NSE-specific dysregulated miRNAs (miR-367-3p, miR-519d-3p, and miR-96-5p) and genes (NR2F1 and NR2F2).     The knowledge and attitudes towards domestic violence among pregnant women in Delhi, India

    Background: Domestic violence during pregnancy endangers the health of the mother and her child. Aim and Objective: To ascertain the knowledge and attitudes towards domestic violence among pregnant women in India and to find out their sociodemographic predictors. Settings and design: This cross-sectional analysis of baseline data from a prospective study was conducted at the antenatal care (ANC) clinic of a major tertiary care government hospital in New Delhi from 2015-2018. Methods and material: The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 1500 pregnant women up to 20 weeks of gestation. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The mean (SD) age of the participants was 24.6 (3.6) years. All the participants were married. A total of 1169 (77.9%) participants were aware of domestic violence. The participant comprehension of the types of domestic violence was highest for physical (89.9%), emotional (68.4%), economical (21.5%), and sexual (17.4%) violence. On adjusted analysis, education ?10 years and higher SES were associated with a comprehensive awareness of domestic violence. Conclusions: The awareness of domestic violence, especially beyond physical violence, is low among pregnant women in India

    Periodic Accretion From A Circumbinary Disk In The Young Binary UZ Tau E

    Close pre-main-sequence binary stars are expected to clear central holes in their protoplanetary disks, but the extent to which material can flow from the circumbinary disk across the gap onto the individual circumstellar disks has been unclear. In binaries with eccentric orbits, periodic perturbation of the outer disk is predicted to induce mass flow across the gap, resulting in accretion that varies with the binary period. This accretion may manifest itself observationally as periodic changes in luminosity. Here we present a search for such periodic accretion in the pre-main-sequence spectroscopic binary UZ Tau E. We present BVRI photometry spanning 3 years; we find that the brightness of UZ Tau E is clearly periodic, with a best-fit period of 19.16 +/- 0.04 days. This is consistent with the spectroscopic binary period of 19.13 days, refined here from analysis of new and existing radial velocity data. The brightness of UZ Tau E shows significant random variability, but the overall periodic pattern is a broad peak in enhanced brightness, spanning more than half the binary orbital period. The variability of the H alpha line is not as clearly periodic, but given the sparseness of the data, some periodic component is not ruled out. The photometric variations are in good agreement with predictions from simulations of binaries with orbital parameters similar to those of UZ Tau E, suggesting that periodic accretion does occur from circumbinary disks, replenishing the inner circumstellar disks and possibly extending the timescale over which they might form planets

    A Hamiltonian formulation of gauge symmetries on noncommutative (Ξ\theta deformed) spaces is discussed. Both cases- star deformed gauge transformation with normal coproduct and undeformed gauge transformation with twisted coproduct- are considered. While the structure of the gauge generator is identical in either case, there is a difference in the computation of the graded Poisson brackets that yield the gauge transformations.     Inverse sinusoidal pulse width modulation switched electric vehicles’ battery charger

    This paper documents an efficient, cost-effective and sustainable grid-connected electric vehicles (EVs) battery charger based on a buck converter to reduce the harmonics injected into the mains power line. To utilize the switching converter as an effective power factor controller (PFC), inverse sinusoidal pulse width modulation (ISPWM) signals have been applied. A mathematical relationship between the sending-end power factor and the duty ratio of the switching converter has been presented. To ensure the sustenance of the proposed method, a simulation model of the proposed battery charging system has been tested on PSIM simulation platform. The simulation results yield to a lossless charging system with a sending-end power factor close to unity. An experimental testbed comprising a 60 V battery bank of 100 A-h capacity with a charging current of 7 A has been generated. The laboratory assessments present an 88.1% efficient charging prototype with a resultant sending-end power factor of 0.89. The laboratory framework concerns with the comparative analysis of the power efficiency, sending-end power factor and lines current total harmonic distortion (THD) values obtained for different charging methods and the evaluations corroborate the reliability of the proposed work
