Aesthetic effects on granite of adding nanoparticle TiO2 to si-based consolidants (ethyl silicate or nano-sized silica)
Considering that consolidant products are commonly used in the cultural heritage field and the titanium oxide nanoparticles (TiO2) have been used to develop photocatalyst films to induce self-cleaning property, the scientific research on consolidants doped with TiO2 is justified. However, the addition of TiO2 can affect to the physical properties of the cultural heritage object, questioning the adequacy of the procedure. In this paper, we evaluated the influence of nanoparticle TiO2 addition to two different commercial consolidant products (ethyl silicate or nano-sized silica) on the appearance and the color of a granite and the penetration through its fissure system. The stone was previously subjected to high temperature simulating the effect of a fire and the subsequent tap water jet to cool down. Therefore, different concentrations of nanocrystalline TiO2 (0.5, 1, and 3 wt %) were considered. The different compositions were also studied considering the compactness, the extent and the thickness of the superficial xerogel coating, and as well the penetration of the consolidant. The minimal TiO2 concentration tested (0.5 wt %) implied a low-medium risk of incompatibility as an intervention in cultural heritage field, because its low-medium potential as inducer of visible color changes of the granite surface. Regardless of the TiO2 content, the nano-sized silica induced surface xerogel coatings more compact and continue than those formed in the ethyl silicate coated surfaces. Higher penetration rates were identified in the granite treated with nano-sized silica colloidal solution, while ethyl silicate was only found in the first few µm. It was found that penetration could depend on the application procedure, the solvent of the consolidant and the silica particle size. The TiO2 addition reduced the penetration of the nano-sized silica consolidant.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad | Ref. IJCI-2017-3277

Results
215
articles were obtained. We have
selected one CG, two SR and one randomized clinical trial
(RCT). Evidence supports that there is improvement in patients’ symptoms with ST treated with
LMWH or NSAIDs compared with placebo, reducing the incidence of recurrences and
complications, without differences in safety profile in the short term. The evidence also highlights
the anticoagulation as first-line therapy. The simultaneous use of NSAIDs and LMWH showed
greater efficacy in symptomatic relief than LMWH alone in a RCT.
Conclusions
LMWH and NSAIDs are the two options with evidence supporting its use as first-line treatment
(SOR B). Anticoagulation for at least 4 weeks is indicated especially when severity criteria are
identified (SOR B). More randomized clinical trials are needed, particularly regarding the choice
between LMWH or NSAIDs or its’ simultaneous use, doses and treatment’s length

Key drivers for the adoption of circular economy practices in the tourist accommodation sector
Purpose – This article assesses the degree of adoption of the circular economy model in the tourist
accommodation sector. Additionally, the study aims to understand whether the type of accommodation, size
and year of construction or remodelling have an impact on the adoption of circular economy practices.
Design/methodology/approach – The study is based on a survey administered to directors and owners of
tourist accommodation facilities in Portugal. The questionnaire was developed based on an extensive literature
review of circular economy practices in the accommodation sector.
Findings – Accommodation companies currently operate in a linear economy model and are still in the early
stages of transitioning to a more circular economic model. Among the most commonly implemented practices
are those that represent expenditure savings for accommodation companies. The findings also suggest a
growing awareness and commitment to sustainability and circular economy practices in the tourist
accommodation sector, particularly in more recently constructed or renovated accommodation.
Originality/value – To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first to evaluate the
accommodation characteristics that impact the adoption of sustainability and circular economy practices in the
tourist accommodation sector. It contributes to the literature by providing primary quantitative data
supporting the adoption of such practices.

Results of a feasibility randomised controlled trial of osteopathy on neck-shoulder pain in computer users
Computer use is a well-known source of chronic pain, leading to absenteeism and reduced productivity and well-being. This study evaluated the feasibility of conducting a full-scale randomised controlled trial. Several methodological variables defined trial feasibility. Of 77 participants interested, 30 were included and randomised into three groups of ten. All participants concluded the study, and all the data was analysed. The feasibility outcomes were deemed appropriate. No adverse events or severe side effects were reported or identified. Studying the efficacy of osteopathic consultation on computer users by conducting an RCT is feasible and safe. With adjustments, a full-scale study can be designed.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Production of tγ, tZ and tH via Flavour Changing Neutral Currents
A Unique FeynRules Output (UFO) model describing general top quark Flavour Changing Neutral Currents is presented. We use it to study tg, tH and tZ production via FCNCs anomalous couplings at the Large Hadron Collider, in particular how the distributions of physical observables depend on the anomalous couplings. A sensitivity study of the Large Hadron Collider experiments to tZ production via FCNC in its second stage of operation is also performed.(undefined)info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
