homosexuales.Homophobia is a social problem that is far from disappearing and instead seems to adapt to the current times becoming
a much more subtle forms that are explained for personal factors. The aim of this study is to find out the levels of
homophobia among young people. For this, a sample of 601 university and vocational training students ranging from
17.46 to 34.47 years old (M = 22.47, SD = 2.96) was selected, of which 65.1% are women, who were administered the
Modern Homphobia Scale (Raja & Stokes, 1998) validated the Spanish for Rodriguez, Lameiras, Carrera & Vallejo
(2013). Even though homophobia levels of participants are low, there are significant differences between the groups,
according to their characteristics. The factorial ANOVA analysis showed that the greater levels of homophobic attitudes
are explained as be a man, not college, not having gay friends and being in the beginning courses of the branch
of knowledge of sciences and experimental. The conclusions underline the importance of training to promote positive
attitudes toward homosexual persons

How Important Are Ports for the Offshore Wind Industry?: The Case of Spain
Paper: 19th International Conference on Renewable Energies and Power Quality (ICREPQ’21) Almeria (Spain), 28th to 30th July 2021[Abstract] Offshore wind is becoming a new technology to develop a better sustainable world. Its progress is linked to the use of port facilities, where the offshore wind farms can be stored or pre-installed. The aim of this paper is to analyse the storage space availability for ports in terms of being used for the new offshore wind sector. The case of study will be focused on analysing the port facilities in Spain, country with a great offshore wind resource in some specific areas. Results indicate the ports that can be used for the development of offshore wind in Spain. This work is important in order to establish a roadmap of the offshore wind business in Spain, which can repair the economic and social damaged due to SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. This research was funded by Project PID2019-105386RA-I00 “Design of a tool for the selection of offshore renewable energy locations and technologies: application to Spanish territorial waters (SEARENEW)”, financed by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación – Agencia Estatal de Investigación/10.13039/50110001103
Modeling and control of a microgrid connected to the INTEC university campus
Producción CientíficaA smart microgrid is a bidirectional electricity generation system—a type of system that is becoming more prevalent in energy production at the distribution level. Usually, these systems have intermittent renewable energy sources, e.g., solar and wind energy. These low voltage networks contribute to decongestion through the efficient use of resources within the microgrid. In this investigation, an energy management strategy and a control scheme for DG units are proposed for DC/AC microgrids. The objective is to implement these strategies in an experimental microgrid that will be developed on the INTEC university campus. After presenting the microgrid topology, the modeling and control of each subsystem and their respective converters are described. All possible operation scenarios, such as islanded or interconnected microgrids, different generation-load possibilities, and state-of-charge conditions of the battery, are verified, and a seamless transition between different operation modes is ensured. The simulation results in Matlab Simulink show how the proposed control system allows transitions between the different scenarios without severe transients in the power transfer between the microgrid and the low voltage network elements.República Dominicana (FONDOCYT Grant 2018-2019-3C1-160 (055-2019 INTEC
Distribution of Methylene Blue after Injection into the Epidural Space of Anaesthetized Pregnant and Non-Pregnant Sheep
The aim of the study was to determine the distribution of different volumes of methylene blue solution injected into the epidural space in anaesthetized pregnant and non-pregnant sheep, to evaluate its cranial distribution and to compare between them. Fifteen pregnant and fifteen non-pregnant sheep were included in the study. Sheep were anaesthetized and received 0.05, 0.1, or 0.2 mL/kg of a lumbosacral epidural solution containing 0.12% methylene blue in 0.9% saline. Thirty minutes after the epidural injection, the ewes were euthanized. The extension of the dye within the epidural space was measured, and the correlation between the volume of the dye injected and the number of stained vertebrae was evaluated. The cranial migration of the dye between pregnant and non-pregnant sheep was also compared. The results show that the volume of methylene blue injected epidurally into pregnant and non-pregnant sheep correlated directly with its cephalic distribution into the epidural space; and a volume of 0.1 mL/kg or 0.2 mL/kg stained up to the first lumbar segment in pregnant and non-pregnant sheep, respectively. Also, the results suggest that the volume of drugs administered into the epidural space of pregnant sheep should be half the volume that would be used in non-pregnant sheep
LA INTEGRACIÓN SOCIAL DE EGRESADOS DE LA ESCUELA ESPECIAL
THE SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF GRADUATED FROM THE EDUCATION SPECIAL

Opening or Not Opening Educational Centers in Time of SARS-CoV-2? Analysis of the Situation in Galicia (Spain)
[Abstract] The appearance of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the world stage has implemented changes in all social activities and, therefore, in teaching at all educational levels. On the one hand, it is argued that the closure of centers and virtual teaching minimizes the risk of contagion and, on the other, this closure implies a reduction in social interactions in the population at ages in which social skills are lower developing. In addition, it is necessary to guarantee that all children and adolescents have access to the necessary means for distance education. This article analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during the second, third and fourth waves in Galicia (northwestern region of Spain), where the centers were kept open with strict security protocols, with the aim of evaluating whether the measure of the center closure is a proportionate measure or not. The results obtained show that, at all educational levels, the incidence of infections has been low, as has the appearance of outbreaks of infections related to educational centers, so the damage caused by this measure can be considered uncompensated, with greater health security. This work was partially performed in the scope of the “STEM is inspiring future careers” project (2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000031524), Erasmus + Progra
Toward a clinical practice guide in pharmacogenomics testing for functional polymorphisms of drug-metabolizing enzymes. Gene/drug pairs and barriers perceived in Spain
The development of clinica lpractice recommendations or
guidelines for the clinical use of biomarkers is an issue of great importance withr regard to adverse drug reactions. The poten-tial of pharmacogenomicbiomarkers has been extensively investigated in recent years. However, several barriers to implementing the use of pharmacogenomics testing exist. We conducted a survey among members of the Spanish Societies of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology to obtain information about the perception of such barriers and to compare the perceptions of participants about the relative importance of majorgene/drug pairs.Of 11 potential barriers, the highest importance was attributed to lack of institutional support for pharmacogenomic stesting, and to the issues related to the lack of guidelines.Of the proposed gene/drug pairs the highest importance was assigned to HLA-B/abacavir, UGT1A1/irinotecan, and CYP2D6/tamoxifen.In this perspective article,we compare the relative importance of 29 gene/drugpairs in the Spanish study with that of the same pairs in the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutic sstudy, and we provide suggestions and areas of focus to develop a guide for clinical practice in pharmacogenomics testingThe work in the author’s laboratory is financed by Grants
