Experiences of International Students in Practicum and Internship Courses: A Consensus Qualitative Research
This qualitative study explores the practicum and/or internship experiences of international students in counseling. Based on the foundation of phenomenological research, this study uses a consensual qualitative research method. Semi-structured interview questionnaires asked ten participants regarding their experiences of practica and/or internships (including their fears, challenges, and support from training programs). Results revealed that the fears and challenges that international students face during the practicum and/or internship training primarily stemmed from their language barrier and/or a lack of understanding of the American counseling system. Our findings indicated that providing practical information, such as sites, the American counseling system, insurance, and cultures, in addition to ensuring that supervisors and faculty members increase in multicultural competency and sensitivity about international students, would improve international students’ preparation for their practica and/or internships

Superconformal field theories from crystal lattices
We propose a brane configuration for the (2+1)d,
superconformal theories (CFT) arising from M2-branes probing toric
Calabi-Yau 4-fold cones, using a T-duality transformation of M-theory. We
obtain intersections of M5-branes on a three-torus which form a 3d bipartite
crystal lattice in a way similar to the 2d dimer models for CFT. The
fundamental fields of the CFT are M2-brane discs localized around the
intersections, and the super-potential terms are identified with the atoms of
the crystal. The model correctly reproduces the complete BPS spectrum of mesons
and baryons.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, revtex; v2. references added, minor correction
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)-induced Mallory-Weiss laceration in a patient who underwent aortic and mitral valve replacement -A case report-
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is a relatively noninvasive and highly valuable diagnostic modality to monitor cardiac surgery. TEE is utilized to estimate the results of the surgical correction or the cardiac function on a real time basis. Accordingly, the frequency of TEE usage is increasing. Previous studies have shown low risk of TEE-associated complications; nonetheless, major gastrointestinal trauma can occur on a rare occasion. We herein present a case of Mallory-Weiss laceration after an intraoperative TEE examination
Topological Chern-Simons Sigma Model
We consider topological twisting of recently constructed Chern-Simons-matter
theories in three dimensions with N=4 or higher supersymmetry. We enumerate
physically inequivalent twistings for each N, and find two different twistings
for N=4, one for N=5,6, and four for N=8. We construct the two types of N=4
topological theories, which we call A/B-models, in full detail. The A-model has
been recently studied by Kapustin and Saulina. The B-model is new and it
consists solely of a Chern-Simons term of a complex gauge field up to
BRST-exact terms. We also compare the new theories with topological Yang-Mills
theories and find some interesting connections. In particular, the A-model
seems to offer a new perspective on Casson invariant and its relation to
Rozansky-Witten theory.Comment: 31 pages, no figure; v2. references adde
Comments on Anomalies and Charges of Toric-Quiver Duals
We obtain a simple expression for the triangle `t Hooft anomalies in quiver
gauge theories that are dual to toric Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. We utilize the
result and simplify considerably the proof concerning the equivalence of
a-maximization and Z-minimization. We also resolve the ambiguity in defining
the flavor charges in quiver gauge theories. We then compare coefficients of
the triangle anomalies with coefficients of the current-current correlators and
find perfect agreement.Comment: 22 pages, 3 figure
Marginal Deformations of Field Theories with AdS_4 Duals
We generate new AdS_4 solutions of D=11 supergravity starting from AdS_4 x
X_7 solutions where X_7 has U(1)^3 isometry. We consider examples where X_7 is
weak G_2, Sasaki-Einstein or tri-Sasakian, corresponding to d=3 SCFTs with
N=1,2 or 3 supersymmetry, respectively, and where the deformed solutions
preserve N=1,2 or 1 supersymmetry, respectively. For the special cases when X_7
is M(3,2), Q(1,1,1) or N(1,1)_I we identify the exactly marginal deformation in
the dual field theory. We also show that the volume of supersymmetric 5-cycles
of N(1,1)_I agrees with the conformal dimension predicted by the baryons of the
dual field theory.Comment: 28 pages, 2 figures; v2. typos correcte
Superconformal Indices for Orbifold Chern-Simons Theories
We calculate the superconformal indices of recently discovered
three-dimensional N=4,5 Chern-Simons-matter theories and compare them with the
corresponding indices of supergravity on AdS4 times orbifolds of S7. We find
perfect agreement in the large N and large k limit, provided that the twisted
sector contributions at the fixed loci of the orbifolds are properly taken into
account. We also discuss the index for the so-called "dual ABJM" proposal.Comment: 27 pages, 1 figure; v2. reference added, minor correction
