Investigations of Gold-Graphene Nanocomposite for ORR in Aqueous Electrolytes
Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is an essential reaction step in fuel cell and metal-air batteries. The kinetics of ORR is very sluggish; it requires very high potential to occur. Many interesting articles have been published to enhance the kinetics. In this direction, we are working on metal nanoparticles modified graphene sheet. Gold nanoparticles are attached on two dimensional graphene sheets by in-situ reduction of metal ion in an aqueous reaction mixture. The synthesized nanocomposite is characterized by powder XRD, XPS and Raman spectroscopy. Microscopy image shows gold nanoparticles are attached to graphene sheets. ORR is studied in 0.1 M KOH and 0.1 M K2SO4 electrolytes. O2 reduction in aqueous electrolytes produces water molecules on gold-graphene nanocomposite

Low Energy Electron and Nuclear Recoil Thresholds in the DRIFT-II Negative Ion TPC for Dark Matter Searches
Understanding the ability to measure and discriminate particle events at the
lowest possible energy is an essential requirement in developing new
experiments to search for weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark
matter. In this paper we detail an assessment of the potential sensitivity
below 10 keV in the 1 m^3 DRIFT-II directionally sensitive, low pressure,
negative ion time projection chamber (NITPC), based on event-by-event track
reconstruction and calorimetry in the multiwire proportional chamber (MWPC)
readout. By application of a digital smoothing polynomial it is shown that the
detector is sensitive to sulfur and carbon recoils down to 2.9 and 1.9 keV
respectively, and 1.2 keV for electron induced events. The energy sensitivity
is demonstrated through the 5.9 keV gamma spectrum of 55Fe, where the energy
resolution is sufficient to identify the escape peak. The effect a lower energy
sensitivity on the WIMP exclusion limit is demonstrated. In addition to recoil
direction reconstruction for WIMP searches this sensitivity suggests new
prospects for applications also in KK axion searches
Measurement of B[Y(5S)->Bs(*) anti-Bs(*)] Using phi Mesons
Knowledge of the Bs decay fraction of the Y(5S) resonance, fs, is important
for Bs meson studies at the Y(5S) energy. Using a data sample collected by the
CLEO III detector at CESR consisting of 0.423/fb on the Y(5S) resonance,
6.34/fb on the Y(4S) and 2.32/fb in the continuum below the Y(4S), we measure
B(Y(5S) -> phi X)=(13.8 +/- 0.7 {+2.3}{-1.5})% and B(Y(4S) -> phi X) = (7.1 +/-
0.1 +/-0.6)%; the ratio of the two rates is (1.9 +/- 0.1 {+0.3}{-0.2}). This is
the first measurement of the phi meson yield from the Y(5S). Using these rates,
and a model dependent estimate of B(Bs -> phi X), we determine fs = (24.6 +/-
2.9 {+11.0}{-5.3})%. We also update our previous independent measurement of fs
made using the inclusive Ds yields to now be (16.8 +/- 2.6 {+6.7}{-3.4)%, due
to a better estimate of the number of hadronic events. We also report the total
Y(5S) hadronic cross section above continuum to be sigma(e^+e^- ->
Y(5S))=(0.301 +/- 0.002 +/- 0.039) nb. This allows us to extract the fraction
of B mesons as (58.9+/-10.0+/-9.2)%, equal to 1-fs. averaging the three methods
gives a model dependent result of fs=(21 {+6}{-3})%.Comment: 23 pages postscript,also available through

Search for Lepton Flavor Violation in Upsilon Decays
In this Letter we describe a search for lepton flavor violation (LFV) in the
bottomonium system. We search for leptonic decays of Upsilon(nS)(n=1,2, and 3)
into muon and tau using the data collected with the CLEO III detector. We
identify the tau lepton using its leptonic decay into electron and utilize
multidimensional likelihood fitting with PDF shapes measured from independent
data samples. We report our estimates of 95% CL upper limits on LFV branching
fractions of Upsilon mesons. We interpret our results in terms of the exclusion
plot for the energy scale of a hypothetical new interaction versus its
effective LFV coupling in the framework of effective field theory.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures, available through

Update of the measurement of the cross section for e^+e^- -> psi(3770) -> hadrons
We have updated our measurement of the cross section for e^+e^- -> psi(3770)
-> hadrons, our publication "Measurement of sigma(e^+e^- -> psi(3770) ->
hadrons) at E_{c.m.} = 3773 MeV", arXiv:hep-ex/0512038, Phys.Rev.Lett.96,
092002 (2006). Simultaneous with this arXiv update, we have published an
erratum in Phys.Rev.Lett.104, 159901 (2010). There, and in this update, we have
corrected a mistake in the computation of the error on the difference of the
cross sections for e^+e^- -> psi(3770) -> hadrons and e^+e^- -> psi(3770) ->
DDbar. We have also used a more recent CLEO measurement of cross section for
e^+e^- -> psi(3770) -> DDbar. From this, we obtain an upper limit on the
branching fraction for psi(3770) -> non-DDbar of 9% at 90% confidence level.Comment: 3 pages, 0 figures. This is an erratum to

Measurement of B(Ds+ -->ell+ nu) and the Decay Constant fDs From 600/pb of e+e- Annihilation Data Near 4170 MeV
We examine e+e- --> Ds^-D_s^{*+} and Ds^{*-}Ds^{+} interactions at 4170 MeV
using the CLEO-c detector in order to measure the decay constant fDs with good
precision. Previously our measurements were substantially higher than the most
precise lattice based QCD calculation of (241 +/- 3) MeV. Here we use the D_s^+
--> ell^+ nu channel, where the ell^+ designates either a mu^+ or a tau^+, when
the tau^+ --> pi^+ anti-nu. Analyzing both modes independently, we determine
B(D_s^+ --> mu^+ nu)= 0.565 +/- 0.045 +/- 0.017)%, and B(D_s^+ --> mu^+ nu)=
(6.42 +/- 0.81 +/- 0.18)%. We also analyze them simultaneously to find an
effective value of B^{eff}(D_s^+ --> mu^+ nu)= (0.591 +/- 0.037 +/- 0.018)% and
fDs=(263.3 +/- 8.2 +/- 3.9) MeV. Combining with the CLEO-c value determined
independently using D_s^+ --> tau^+ nu, tau^+ --> e^+ nu anti-nu decays, we
extract fDs=(259.5 +/- 6.6 +/- 3.1) MeV. Combining with our previous
determination of B(D^+ --> mu^+ nu), we extract the ratio fDs/fD+=1.26 +/- 0.06
+/- 0.02. No evidence is found for a CP asymmetry between Gamma(D_s^+ -->
mu^+\nu) and \Gamma(D_s^- --> mu^- nu); specifically the fractional difference
in rates is measured to be (4.8 +/- 6.1)%. Finally, we find B(D_s^+ --> e^+ nu)
< 1.2x10^{-4} at 90% confidence level.Comment: 26 pages, 16 figure
Measurement of the eta-Meson Mass using psi(2S) --> eta J/psi
We measure the mass of the eta meson using psi(2S) --> eta J/psi events
acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e+e- collider. Using
the four decay modes eta --> gamma gamma, 3pi0, pi+pi-pi0, and pi+pi-gamma, we
find M(eta)=547.785 +- 0.017 +- 0.057 MeV, in which the first uncertainty is
statistical and the second systematic. This result has an uncertainty
comparable to the two most precise previous measurements and is consistent with
that of NA48, but is inconsistent at the level of 6.5sigma with the much
smaller mass obtained by GEM.Comment: 10 pages postscript,also available through

Measurement of Interfering K^*+K^- and K^*-K^+ Amplitudes in the Decay D^0 --> K^+K^-pi^0
We have studied the Cabibbo-suppressed decay mode D^0 into K^+ K^- pi^0 using
a Dalitz plot technique and find the strong phase difference delta_D [defined
as delta_(K*^- K^+) - delta_(K*^+ K^-)] = 332 degrees +- 8 degrees +- 11
degrees and relative amplitude r_D [defined as a_(K*^- K^+) / a_(K*^+ K^-)] =
0.52 +- 0.05 +- 0.04. This measurement indicates significant destructive
interference between D^0 into K^+ (K^- pi^0)_K*^- and D^0 into K^- (K^+
pi^0)_K*^+ in the Dalitz plot region where these two modes overlap. This
analysis uses 9.0 fb^(-1) of data collected at s^(1/2) of approximately 10.58

Suppressed Decays of D_s^+ Mesons to Two Pseudoscalar Mesons
Using data collected near the Ds*+ Ds- peak production energy Ecm = 4170 MeV
by the CLEO-c detector, we study the decays of Ds+ mesons to two pseudoscalar
mesons. We report on searches for the singly-Cabibbo-suppressed Ds+ decay modes
K+ eta, K+ eta', pi+ K0S, K+ pi0, and the isospin-forbidden decay mode Ds+ to
pi+ pi0. We normalize with respect to the Cabibbo-favored Ds+ modes pi+ eta,
pi+ eta', and K+ K0S, and obtain ratios of branching fractions: Ds+ to K+ eta /
Ds+ to pi+ eta = (8.9 +- 1.5 +- 0.4)%, Ds+ to K+ eta' / Ds+ to pi+ eta' = (4.2
+- 1.3 +- 0.3)%, Ds+ to pi+ K0S / Ds+ to K+ K0S = (8.2 +- 0.9 +- 0.2)%, Ds+ to
K+ pi0 / Ds+ to K+ K0S = (5.0 +- 1.2 +- 0.6)%, and Ds+ to pi+ pi0 / Ds+ to K+
K0S < 4.1% at 90% CL, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic,
