In this investigation we have analyzed the influence of a transverse magnetic field in the transient peristaltic transport through porous medium. This model is designed for computing the intestinal pressures during the movement of food bolus in the digestive system under magneto-hydro dynamic effects. we consider in the present article the transient magneto-fluid flow through a finite length channel by peristaltic pumping. Long wavelength(a ) and low Reynolds number approximations(Re → 0) have been employed to reduce the governing equations from nonlinear to linear form and that enough to neglect inertial effects . Analytical approximate solution for axial velocity, transverse velocity , pressure gradient , local wall shear stress and volumetric flow rate are obtained for the non-dimensional equations subject to appropriate boundary conditions. This study is done through drawing many graphs by using the MATHEMATICA package. Keywords : Transient peristaltic flow , Pressure gradient , Local wall shear stress  , Couple stress , Magnetic field , porous medium

Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment and intrapreneurship at the Individual- Level.   Theoretical framework: This study proposes a model that integrates psychological empowerment and its dimensions (meaning, competence, self -determination, and impact) with intrapreneurship at the Individual- Level.   Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach was adopted to test the research hypotheses. The data were collected by administrating a questionnaire to a sample of (450) employees in the private sector in Saudi Arabia.   Findings: The regression analysis results confirm that psychological empowerment and its attributes (meaning, competence, self -determination, and impact) are correlated positively with intrapreneurship at the Individual- Level.   Research, Practical & Social implications: Examining psychological empowerment and its dimensions as determinants of intrapreneurship can provide a better insight to understand the underlying mechanism of stimulating intrapreneurship at the individual- level. This would contribute significantly in creating a supportive work environment that stimulates intrapreneurship, and reinforces creativity and innovative thinking among employees.   Originality/value: This study can be considered the first to be conducted in the context of Saudi Arabia to test the relationship between psychological empowerment and intrapreneurship at the Individual- Level. Additionally, this study aim to enrich the knowledge on intrapreneurial behavior by investigating intrapreneurship at the individual level using the psychological perspective

Predicating the required building energy when it is in the design stage and before being constructed considers a crucial step for in charge people. Hence, the main aim of this research is to accurately forecast the needed building cooling energy per hour for educational buildings at University of Technology in Iraq. For this purpose, the feed forward artificial neural network (ANN) has been selected as an efficient technique to develop such a predication system.  Firstly, the main building parameters have been investigated and then only the most important ones were chosen to be used as inputs to the ANN model. However, due to the long time period that is required to collect actual consumed building energy in order to be employed for ANN model training, the hourly analysis program (HAP), which is a building simulation software, has been utilized to produce a database covering the summer months in Iraq. Different training algorithms and range of learning rate values have been investigated, and the Bayesian regularization backpropagation training algorithm and 0.05 learning rate were found very suitable for precise cooling energy prediction. To evaluate the performance of the optimized ANN model, mean square error (MSE) and correlation coefficient (R) have been adopted. The MSE and R indices for the predication results proved that the optimized ANN model is having a high predication accuracy with 5.99*10-6 and 0.9994, respectively

    Get PDF
Background: Relying solely on restrictive annuloplasty for the repair of ischemic mitral regurgitation is associated with an unacceptable rate of recurrence. Transection of secondary chordae as an adjunctive procedure has been proposed to improve results.Patient and methods: This is a prospective observational study including 20 patients who underwent mitral repair using downsized annuloplasty ring and transection of the secondary chordae, at the time of CABG at the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department of Cairo University Hospitals through the period between March 2016 and October 2018. The primary outcome being examined was the recurrence of significant mitral regurgitation at 6 months postoperatively. Secondary outcomes included coaptation length and ejection fraction. Results: The mean age was 57.5 ± 6.9 years. The mean ejection fraction was 45.1 ± 11%. There was one early mortality (5%). At 6 months postoperatively, there was no incidence of recurrence of significant mitral regurgitation. Coaptation length was quite satisfactory (7.2 ± 0.67 mm). Conclusion: Transection of secondary chordae is a safe and simple option. It may be beneficial when performed in combination with downsized ring annuloplasty in patients with low-risk ischemic mitral regurgitation

Oral soft tissue lesions require a precise diagnosis by oral biopsy with the ability to recognize these lesions within histopathological levels, so the instrument used for the incisions should be safe and cause little to no harm to the surrounding tissue. Objective: This study compared a dual-wavelength diode laser and an Er, Cr:YSGG laser in oral soft tissue incisions to determine the most effective and safest laser system at the histopathological level. Methodology: The (810 and 980 nm) dual-wavelength diode laser was used at 1.5 W and 2.5 W (CW) power settings, and the (2780 nm) Er, Cr:YSGG laser was used at 2.5 W and 3.5 W (PW) power settings. Both laser systems were used to incise the tissues of freshly dissected sheep tongue pieces to obtain the following histopathological criteria: epithelial tissue changes, connective tissue changes, and lateral thermal damage extent by optical microscopy. Results: The epithelial and connective tissue damage scores were significantly higher in the dual-wavelength diode laser groups than in the Er, Cr:YSGG laser groups (P<0.001), and there was a significant difference between some groups. The extent of lateral thermal damage was also significantly higher in the diode laser groups than in the Er, Cr: YSGG laser groups (P<0.001), and there was a significant difference between groups. Group 2 (2.5 W) of the diode laser was the highest for all three criteria, while group 3 (2.5 W) of the Er, Cr:YSGG laser was the lowest. Conclusion: The Er, Cr:YSGG laser with an output power of 2.5 W is, histologically, the most effective and safest laser for oral soft tissue incision. The dual-wavelength diode laser causes more damage than the Er, Cr:YSGG laser, but it can be used with a low output power and 1 mm safety distance in excisional biopsy
