    The impact of socio-economic factors on small business success

    Small enterprises play a vital role in economic development as they can provide the economy with efficiency, innovation, competition and employment. Entrepreneurs are responsible for the success of their businesses and have to face up with definite challenges in doing so. To know what constitute critical determinants of small business success data were collected from 60 randomly selected respondents in the Dera Ismail Khan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Pakistan, who were administered with structured questionnaires. Regression analyses of the findings showed the positive and significant impact factors of investment, entrepreneurial experience, business profile and culture with R2=0.638 and F= 11.222. The provision of ample opportunities to develop skills for business enhancement is suggested as the rational way forward

    Agriculture is not only the backbone of our food, livelihood and ecological security system, but is also the very soul of our sovereignty. In Pakistan population density is high and has been increasing day by day and agricultural land has been decreasing because of fragmenting or converting it into residential plots. To meet the domestic food requirements and raising standard of life use of improved production technologies developed by research is must. In this behalf government of Pakistan has been extending loan to poor farmers for adoption of new farm technology; a capital intensive technology. Right adoption of new farm technology depends on different demographic factors of farmers. Therefore objective of the paper was to see who benefits more of credit. Primary data regarding different determinants effecting well being of farmers after use of credit was collected from 320 farmers who participated in credit using stratified sampling technique through questionnaire and interview. Descriptive statistics, ANOVE and Linear regression model was applied with the help of SPSS.Education and visiting agriculture information centre were found significant suggesting younger more educated farmers who visits information centre be provided credit ,as they had ability to improve their standard.     Sources and Uses of Agricultural Credit by Farmers In Dera Ismail Khan (District) Khyber Pakhtonkhawa Pakistan

    The role of credit in agricultural economy is vital and its restraints which can affect farmer's investment actions necessitate the analysis of sources of agricultural credit and its uses in Dera Ismail Khan. Data was collected from three hundred and twenty respondents through structured questionnaire who were selected randomly .The study found that most of the respondents obtained loans through formal sources. Commercial banks were found the most popular source and credit was mostly used for production purposes. The results also showed that larger percentage of the credit obtained by most of the respondents was used for seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. However, to ensure effective utilization of sources of credit, establishment of agricultural and commercial banks in the rural areas with simple procedures of securing loans, mobilization of farmers into formidable groups in order to enjoy the benefit of collective investment of group savings and demonstration regarding use of new farm technology by extension agents with in reach of farmers is recommended

    Relationship between job satisfaction and Job Performance: A case study of Universities of Peshawar District (KPK) Pakistan

    Employee attitudes are imperative to management because they settle on the behavior of workers in the organization. The frequently held judgment is that “A satisfied worker is a fruitful worker”. A satisfied work force may generate agreeable feeling within the organization to perform well. Hence job satisfaction and commitment has become a major topic for research studies. The specific problem addressed in this study is to examine the impact of set of selected predictors for job satisfaction and on performance of academicians in higher education institutions (Universities) of Peshawar. Data were collected through a field survey using a questionnaire from 218 randomly selected academicians working in both (public and private) universities of Peshawar. Regression analysis revealed that there exists collectively positive highly correlation and positive significant impact of job satisfaction and job performance in academicians.     The Impact of Agricultural Credit on Agricultural Productivity in Dera Ismail Khan (District) Khyber Pakhtonkhawa Pakistan

In Pakistan population density is high and has been increasing day by day and agricultural land has been decreasing because of fragmenting or converting it into residential plots. To meet the domestic food requirements use of improved production technologies developed by research is must. In this behalf government of Pakistan has been extending loan to poor farmers for adoption of new farm technology, a capital intensive technology. Therefore objective of the paper was to see impact of credit on agricultural gross domestic product. Data regarding disbursement of credit from different formal sources for different purposes and agricultural gross domestic product of major crops in study area D.I.Khan from 1990 to 2008 was collected from statistical office for crop reporting services DIK. Data was analyzed using linear regression model on The Cobb-Douglass type. Credit disbursed for seed along with fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation and tractors were found strongly correlated to agricultural gross domestic product with values 0.87, 0.58 and 0.42 respectively. Above 80% impact was of credit on agricultural gross domestic product with F = 10.752 significant at 0%.Only credit for seeds, fertilizers etc had greater role in this collective impact. At the end it was concluded that availability of credit increased agricultural production
