Two Ostrowski type inequalities for the stieltjes integral of monotonic functions
Two integral inequalities of Ostrowski type for the Stieltjes integral are given. The first is for monotonie integrators and Holder continuous integrands while the second considers the dual case, that is, for monotonie integrands and Holder continuous integrators. Applications for the mid-point inequality that are useful in the numerical analysis of Stieltjes integrals are exhibited. Some connections with the generalised trapezoidal rule are also presented. Information inequalities and Generalized Graph Entropies
In this article, we discuss the problem of establishing relations between
information measures assessed for network structures. Two types of entropy
based measures namely, the Shannon entropy and its generalization, the
R\'{e}nyi entropy have been considered for this study. Our main results involve
establishing formal relationship, in the form of implicit inequalities, between
these two kinds of measures when defined for graphs. Further, we also state and
prove inequalities connecting the classical partition-based graph entropies and
the functional-based entropy measures. In addition, several explicit
inequalities are derived for special classes of graphs.Comment: A preliminary version. To be submitted to a journa
Functional Inequalities Involving Numerical Differentiation Formulas of Order Two
We write expressions connected with numerical differentiation formulas of order 2 in the form of Stieltjes integral, then we use Ohlin lemma and Levin–Stechkin theorem to study inequalities connected with these expressions. In particular, we present a new proof of the inequality f(x+y2)≤1(y-x)2∫xy∫xyf(s+t2)dsdt≤1y-x∫xyf(t)dtsatisfied by every convex function f:R→R and we obtain extensions of this inequality. Then we deal with non-symmetric inequalities of a similar form
