Eye in the Sky: Real-time Drone Surveillance System (DSS) for Violent Individuals Identification using ScatterNet Hybrid Deep Learning Network
Drone systems have been deployed by various law enforcement agencies to
monitor hostiles, spy on foreign drug cartels, conduct border control
operations, etc. This paper introduces a real-time drone surveillance system to
identify violent individuals in public areas. The system first uses the Feature
Pyramid Network to detect humans from aerial images. The image region with the
human is used by the proposed ScatterNet Hybrid Deep Learning (SHDL) network
for human pose estimation. The orientations between the limbs of the estimated
pose are next used to identify the violent individuals. The proposed deep
network can learn meaningful representations quickly using ScatterNet and
structural priors with relatively fewer labeled examples. The system detects
the violent individuals in real-time by processing the drone images in the
cloud. This research also introduces the aerial violent individual dataset used
for training the deep network which hopefully may encourage researchers
interested in using deep learning for aerial surveillance. The pose estimation
and violent individuals identification performance is compared with the
state-of-the-art techniques.Comment: To Appear in the Efficient Deep Learning for Computer Vision (ECV)

Disguised Face Identification (DFI) with Facial KeyPoints using Spatial Fusion Convolutional Network
Disguised face identification (DFI) is an extremely challenging problem due
to the numerous variations that can be introduced using different disguises.
This paper introduces a deep learning framework to first detect 14 facial
key-points which are then utilized to perform disguised face identification.
Since the training of deep learning architectures relies on large annotated
datasets, two annotated facial key-points datasets are introduced. The
effectiveness of the facial keypoint detection framework is presented for each
keypoint. The superiority of the key-point detection framework is also
demonstrated by a comparison with other deep networks. The effectiveness of
classification performance is also demonstrated by comparison with the
state-of-the-art face disguise classification methods.Comment: To Appear in the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision

Diversity of pectinolytic molds on major indian mango cultivars
The diversity of pectinolytic fungi on nine major Indian mango cultivars was studied. A total of 71 moulds belonging to 10 genera and 18 species were isolated from fruit surfaces, 49 of which showed pectinase activity. Aspergillus niger was the most frequent (30%) followed by A. fumigatus, A. flavus, A. alternata, Fusarium oxysporium, A. roseogriseum and Paecilomyces variotti. A. niger isolated from the Banganapalli cultivar from Andhra Pradesh in 2010 showed the highest pectinolytic activity. The majority of the fungi showed wide pH tolerances indicating that they could be important candidates for the production of enzymes using liquid media containing mango peel, a by-product of the mango-processing industry. Keywords: Pectinase activity; pectinolytic zone; pH, A. niger; diversity index
Frontier Orbital and Conformational Analysis of a Nematic Liquid Crystal: 4-n-heptyloxy-4´-cyanobiphenyl
687-689The 4-n-heptyloxy-4´-cyanobiphenyl (7OCB) is a member of 4-n-alkoxy-4´-cyanobiphenyl homologous series. This liquid crystal series is well known for its electro-optical properties. The 7OCB compound transforms from crystal to nematic at 53.5°C and nematic to isotropic phase at 75.0°C. Using Hartree-Fock and DFT methods with 6-31G(d,p) basis set, molecular geometry, conformational analysis, electronic structure, MEP, HOMO-LUMO surfaces and molecular parameters of 7OCB molecular system have been investigated. Efforts have been made to elucidate the physico-chemical properties of the 7OCB liquid crystal
Area of linkage between lean construction and sustainability in indian construction industry
Purpose-The purpose of the research paper to study the area of linkage between lean construction (LC) and sustainability in Indian construction industry and rank the identified attributes on the basis of the responses given to their severity to construction projects in India. Design/methodology/approach-The research was conducted by a structured questionnaire that was sent to 180 professional working in Indian construction industry. This questionnaire requested the respondents to give a score to the 26 attributes identified that are 15 lean construction tools for enabling sustainability and 11 attributes as area of linkage between lean construction and sustainability in Indian construction industry through literature review. They were asked to rate the attributes on a Likert scale rating of 1 to 5. The data collect than analysed using relative importance index and reliability analysis. Findings-The research study identifies the top five Significant lean tools for enabling sustainability are: first run studies, six sigma, kanaban, last planner system and visualization tool having relative importance index (Rii) of 0.80, 0.781, 0.779, 0.77 and 0.75 respectively. Most significant area of linkage between sustainability and lean construction are: resource management, waste reduction, energy minimization, elimination of non-value added activities and health and safety improvement as the outcome benefits of linking lean construction and sustainability in Indian construction industry having a relative importance index of 0.83, 0.779, 0.776, 0.77 and 0.76 respectively. Research limitations-The research focused on the responses received through the questionnaire and the number of respondents is 180 with a response rate of 41%. A further more detailed research is required to know the broad effect of lean tools on sustainability in Indian construction industry. © IAEME Publication
Relationship between skill development and productivity in construction sector: A literature review
Purpose-Construction industry development council (CIDC) and national productivity Council (NPC) has emphasized the role of skill development and training as a means of improving productivity and profitability in Indian construction sector. The purpose of this paper is to assess the appropriateness of this policy within the context of the construction industry, through the recent published national and international literature review. Design/methodology/approach-A trend analysis of construction productivity (measured by Gross Value Added/worker) and skills indicators (qualification attainment and training) was conducted over the period 1999-2010. Findings-There is significant relationship between skill development and construction productivity and consistency in the industry's productivity performance and an overall increase in qualification attainment levels and participation rates in training over the same period. © IAEME Publication
Congenital tuberculosis with multisystem involvement
Congenital tuberculosis is an uncommon condition, but in a country like India, where largest tuberculosis burden is found, there should be an eye on early diagnosis and management of this condition so as to prevent the devastating consequences of this disease considering the absence of specific pathogenic signs and symptoms. Here, we present a case of congenital tuberculosis in a newborn who was admitted on the 17th day after birth with the complaint of difficulty in breathing and lethargy for 3 days. On observing the antenatal history, it was found that mother after conception was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and was inadequately treated. The clinical indexes included no increase in body weight, hepatosplenomegaly, lethargy, and emaciated appearance. The treatment was initiated with antibiotics in intravenous form along with 4-drug antitubercular treatment (ATT). The 4-drug ATT was stopped after 1 week due to negative outcome in the tubercular screening, which leads to respiratory complications. The 4-drug ATT regimen was started again after a week on clinical basis which resulted in significant improvement within a few days. Hence, the present case presents a perspective that congenital tuberculosis can be considered in a newborn when mother has a history of tuberculosis before or during pregnancy
