Revisiting the Quark-Lepton Complementarity and Triminimal Parametrization of Neutrino Mixing Matrix

We examine how a parametrization of neutrino mixing matrix reflecting quark-lepton complementarity can be probed by considering phase-averaged oscillation probabilities, flavor composition of neutrino fluxes coming from atmospheric and astrophysical neutrinos and lepton flavor violating radiative decays. We discuss about some distinct features of the parametrization by comparing with the triminimal parametrization of perturbations to tri-bimaximal neutrino mixing matrix.Comment: 9 pages, references adde

Sneutrino Leptogenesis at the Electroweak Scale

We propose an alternative mechanism for leptogenesis at the electroweak scale, through the decays of a left-handed sneutrino. This scenario may be realized in supersymmetric models with non-zero Majorana masses for the neutrino superfield that lead to mixing and mass splitting between the left-handed sneutrino and the corresponding antisneutrino. Soft supersymmetry breaking provides new sources of CP violation in sneutrino-antisneutrino mixing that can generate a lepton asymmetry in decays of the left-handed sneutrino. We show how the three Sakharov conditions for generating the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe can be fulfilled in this restrictive framework.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figure

    Lepton flavor mixing and baryogenesis

Recently a new general class of quark mass matrix ansatz has been proposed, which originates from some flavor symmetry. We extend that symmetry to the lepton sector and study the neutrino mass matrix and address the question of the baryon asymmetry of the universe in this model.Comment: 14 pages with 1 postscript figur
