The experiment comprising of four levels of bio - fertilizers (no inoculation, Rhizobium, PSB and Rhizobium+PSB) and five levels of plant growth regulators ( GA3 50 and 100 ppm and NAA 10 and 20 ppm and water) was conducted in factorial randomelly bock design with three replication. The results indicated that superiority of dual inoculation of seed with Rhizobium+PSB recorded significantly higher plant height, no of branches/plant, number of nodules/plant and dry weight of nodules per plant at 45 DAS and harvest stage over rest treatment. Dual inoculation of seed with Rhizobium+PSB also recorded significantly higher yield components (viz.), number of pods/plant, pod length, pod weight, number of seeds/pod and shelling percentage and consequently increase seed and biological yield (i.e., 18.02 and 63.96 q ha - 1) over control (15.62 and 57.55 q ha - 1), respectively. The growth parameters, yield components and seed yield showed positive response to foliar application of plant growth regulators. The maximum dry matter accumulation, number of pods/plant, numbers of seeds/pod, pod length, pod weight, and shelling percentage was recorded in 20 ppm NAA treatment followed by 10 ppm NAA application. The productivity of fenugreek crop in terms of seed, biological yield and harvest index were recorded highest (17.62, 65.65 q ha - 1 and 27.45%) in 20 ppm foliar spray of NAANot Availabl

In upper soil profile of 0-15 and 15-30 cm relatively higher amount of soil moisture was extracted at 1.0 IW/CPE ratio but in lower soil profile extraction of soil moisture was found more at lower IW/CPE ratio. The highest consumptive use of water (409.89mm) seed yield (1474 kg/ha) and straw (2835but higher water use efficiency (3.94 kg ha-1mm-1), and water expanse efficiency (3.37 kg ha-1 mm-1) was recorded with 0.8 IW/CPE ratios. Higher soil moisture at 0-15,15-30 and 30-45 cm soil profile was extracted in weedy check but from lower soil profile i.e. 45-60 and 60-75 cm weed free treatment followed by pre-emergence application of Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg ha-1 (PE) + IC at 40 DAS) extracted more soil moisture compared to other treatments. The highest consumptive use of water was recorded in weedy check but WUE and WEE as well as seed, and straw yields were obtained highest in weed free being at par with Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg per ha +IC at 40 DAS and HW at 20 and 40 DAS. Thus, irrigation at 1.0 IW/CPE ratio along with Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg ha-1 (PE) + IC at 40 DAS is recommended to get maximum yieldNot Availabl

Not AvailableAn experiment on effect of intercropping system and fertility levels on yield and profitability of fennel was conducted at NRCSS, Ajmer during rabi season of 2003-04.The experiment consisting four levels of fertilizers (75 kg N+30 kg P2O5,90 kg N+40 kg P2O5,105 kg N+50 kg P2O5,120 kg N+50kg P2O5 per ha ) and six levels of intercropping system viz. fennel+ radish (1:1), fennel+ radish (1:2), fennel + radish (2:2),fennel+ carrot (1:1), fennel + carrot (1:2), fennel + carrot (2:2) was conducted in factorial randomized block design with three replications. Application of increasing levels of fertilizers significantly increased fennel yield, carrot/ radish yield, fennel equivalent yield, gross return, net return and BCR and highest yield and economic return was obtained with the application of 120 kg N + 50 kg P2O5 ha-10-. The fennel based intercropping system in association of carrot with all ratios resulted higher yield and profitability as compared with radish at respective intercropping ratio. The highest fennel yield (17.35 q ha-1), fennel equivalent yield (26.42 q ha-1) gross return (Rs 66050/- ha-1), net return (Rs 38584/- ha-1) and BCR (1.40) was obtained in 1:1 intercropping ratio of fennel and carrot followed by with 1:2 ratio. Thus, sowing of fennel and carrot in 1:1 ratio with application of 120 kg N +50 kg P2O5 is best for realizing the higher system productivity and profitabilityNot Availabl
