Relating the generating functionals in field/antifield formulation through finite field dependent BRST transformation
We study the field/antifield formulation of pure Yang Mills theory in the
framework of finite field dependent BRST transformation. We show that the
generating functionals corresponding to different solutions of quantum master
equation are connected through the finite field dependent BRST transformations.

Translational groups as generators of gauge transformations
We examine the gauge generating nature of the translational subgroup of
Wigner's little group for the case of massless tensor gauge theories and show
that the gauge transformations generated by the translational group is only a
subset of the complete set of gauge transformations. We also show that, just
like the case of topologically massive gauge theories, translational groups act
as generators of gauge transformations in gauge theories obtained by extending
massive gauge noninvariant theories by a Stuckelberg mechanism. The
representations of the translational groups that generate gauge transformations
in such Stuckelberg extended theories can be obtained by the method of
dimensional descent. We illustrate these with the examples of Stuckelberg
extended first class versions of Proca, Einstein-Pauli-Fierz and massive
Kalb-Ramond theories in 3+1 dimensions. A detailed analysis of the partial
gauge generation in massive and massless 2nd rank symmetric gauge theories is
provided. The gauge transformations generated by translational group in 2-form
gauge theories are shown to explicitly manifest the reducibility of gauge

Field dependent nilpotent symmetry for gauge theories
We construct the field dependent mixed BRST (combination of BRST and
anti-BRST) transformations for pure gauge theories. These are shown to be an
exact nilpotent symmetry of both the effective action as well as the generating
functional for certain choices of the field dependent parameters. We show that
the Jacobian contributions for path integral measure in the definition of
generating functional arising from BRST and anti-BRST part compensate each
other. The field dependent mixed BRST transformations are also considered in
field/antifield formulation to show that the solutions of quantum master
equation remain invariant under these. Our results are supported by several

Center or Limit Cycle: Renormalization Group as a Probe
Based on our studies done on two-dimensional autonomous systems, forced
non-autonomous systems and time-delayed systems, we propose a unified
methodology - that uses renormalization group theory - for finding out
existence of periodic solutions in a plethora of nonlinear dynamical systems
appearing across disciplines. The technique will be shown to have a non-trivial
ability of classifying the solutions into limit cycles and periodic orbits
surrounding a center. Moreover, the methodology has a definite advantage over
linear stability analysis in analyzing centers
Space-time inhomogeneity, anisotropy and gravitational collapse
We investigate the evolution of non-adiabatic collapse of a shear-free
spherically symmetric stellar configuration with anisotropic stresses
accompanied with radial heat flux. The collapse begins from a curvature
singularity with infinite mass and size on an inhomogeneous space-time
background. The collapse is found to proceed without formation of an even
horizon to singularity when the collapsing configuration radiates all its mass
energy. The impact of inhomogeneity on various parameters of the collapsing

Gravitational collapse without a remnant
We investigate the gravitational collapse of a spherically symmetric,
inhomogeneous star, which is described by a perfect fluid with heat flow and
satisfies the equation of state or p=C\rho^\ga at its center.
Different from the ordinary process of gravitational collapsing, the energy of
the whole star is emitted into space. And the remaining spacetime is a

Some Bianchi Type III String Cosmological Models with Bulk Viscosity
We investigate the integrability of cosmic strings in Bianchi III space-time
in presence of a bulk viscous fluid by applying a new technique. The behaviour
of the model is reduced to the solution of a single second order nonlinear
differential equation. We show that this equation admits an infinite family of

Multiple poliovirus-induced organelles suggested by comparison of spatiotemporal dynamics of membranous structures and phosphoinositides
At the culmination of poliovirus (PV) multiplication, membranes are observed that contain phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PI4P) and appear as vesicular clusters in cross section. Induction and remodeling of PI4P and membranes prior to or concurrent with genome replication has not been well studied. Here, we exploit two PV mutants, termed EG and GG, which exhibit aberrant proteolytic processing of the P3 precursor that substantially delays the onset of genome replication and/or impairs virus assembly, to illuminate the pathway of formation of PV-induced membranous structures. For WT PV, changes to the PI4P pool were observed as early as 30 min post-infection. PI4P remodeling occurred even in the presence of guanidine hydrochloride, a replication inhibitor, and was accompanied by formation of membrane tubules throughout the cytoplasm. Vesicular clusters appeared in the perinuclear region of the cell at 3 h post-infection, a time too slow for these structures to be responsible for genome replication. Delays in the onset of genome replication observed for EG and GG PVs were similar to the delays in virus-induced remodeling of PI4P pools, consistent with PI4P serving as a marker of the genome-replication organelle. GG PV was unable to convert virus-induced tubules into vesicular clusters, perhaps explaining the nearly 5-log reduction in infectious virus produced by this mutant. Our results are consistent with PV inducing temporally distinct membranous structures (organelles) for genome replication (tubules) and virus assembly (vesicular clusters). We suggest that the pace of formation, spatiotemporal dynamics, and the efficiency of the replication-to-assembly-organelle conversion may be set by both the rate of P3 polyprotein processing and the capacity for P3 processing to yield 3AB and/or 3CD proteins
Collapsing shear-free perfect fluid spheres with heat flow
A global view is given upon the study of collapsing shear-free perfect fluid
spheres with heat flow. We apply a compact formalism, which simplifies the
isotropy condition and the condition for conformal flatness. This formalism
also presents the simplest possible version of the main junction condition,
demonstrated explicitly for conformally flat and geodesic solutions. It gives
the right functions to disentangle this condition into well known differential
equations like those of Abel, Riccati, Bernoulli and the linear one. It yields
an alternative derivation of the general solution with functionally dependent
metric components. We bring together the results for static and time- dependent
models to describe six generating functions of the general solution to the
isotropy equation. Their common features and relations between them are
elucidated. A general formula for separable solutions is given, incorporating
collapse to a black hole or to a naked singularity.Comment: 26 page
Scintillation Counters for the D0 Muon Upgrade
We present the results of an upgrade to the D0 muon system. Scintillating
counters have been added to the existing central D0 muon system to provide
rejection for cosmic ray muons and out-of-time background, and to provide
additional fast timing information for muons in an upgraded Tevatron.
