The inner dark matter distribution of the Cosmic Horseshoe (J1148+1930) with gravitational lensing and dynamics
We present a detailed analysis of the inner mass structure of the Cosmic
Horseshoe (J1148+1930) strong gravitational lens system observed with the
Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3). In addition to the
spectacular Einstein ring, this systems shows a radial arc. We obtained the
redshift of the radial arc counter image from
Gemini observations. To disentangle the dark and luminous matter, we consider
three different profiles for the dark matter distribution: a power-law profile,
the NFW, and a generalized version of the NFW profile. For the luminous matter
distribution, we base it on the observed light distribution that is fitted with
three components: a point mass for the central light component resembling an
active galactic nucleus, and the remaining two extended light components scaled
by a constant M/L. To constrain the model further, we include published
velocity dispersion measurements of the lens galaxy and perform a
self-consistent lensing and axisymmetric Jeans dynamical modeling. Our model
fits well to the observations including the radial arc, independent of the dark
matter profile. Depending on the dark matter profile, we get a dark matter
fraction between 60 % and 70 %. With our composite mass model we find that the
radial arc helps to constrain the inner dark matter distribution of the Cosmic

The effectiveness of creative drama education on the teaching of social communication skills in mainstreamed students
AbstractThe present study was conducted in order to evaluate the effectiveness of creative drama education on teaching the social communication skills of greeting, joining the group and initiating a conversation in preschool level disabled students integrated into mainstream education. A six-year-old hearing impaired female student attending the nursery class of a primary school administered by the Provincial Directorate of National Education in the Province of Konya was included in the study. The “Social Communication Skills Evaluation Observation Form”, which was developed by the researchers, was used as the data collection tool As the result of the study, it was found that creative drama education had a significant positive effect on the social communication skills of the subject
EXAMINING OF THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN AND THE CARDIO FITNESS TEST IN STUDENTS STUDYING IN THE FACULTY OF SPORTS SCIENCES
This study was conducted to examine the correlation between the scores of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the scores of the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) in students studying in the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The sample group was composed of totally 25 students, including 14 males and 11 females aged between 22-24 years. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) test battery including seven stations as deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, trunk stability, and rotary trunk and the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) battery including six stations as resting heart rate, heart rate recovery, body flexibility, upper body strength, core strength, and lower body strength were applied to the sample group in different days. It was found that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the total scores of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the total scores of the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) (r =0.60, p<0.001). While no statistically significant correlation was found between the lower body total scores of the relevant test batteries, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the upper extremity total scores (r=0.48, p<0.05). Consequently; the significant correlation found between the Functional Movement Screen test battery, used in posture analysis and posture rehabilitation, and the Cardio Fitness Test formed the opinion that these two tests can be used in the field in combination. GLaD: Gravitational Lensing and Dynamics, combined analysis to unveil properties of high-redshift galaxies
Dynamical modelling of Integral-Field-Unit (IFU) stellar kinematics is a
powerful tool to unveil the dynamical structure and mass build-up of galaxies
in the local Universe, while gravitational lensing is nature's cosmic telescope
to explore the properties of galaxies beyond the local Universe. We present a
new approach which unifies dynamical modelling of galaxies with the
magnification power of strong gravitational lensing, to reconstruct the
structural and dynamical properties of high-redshift galaxies. By means of
axisymmetric Jeans modelling, we create a dynamical model of the source galaxy,
assuming a surface brightness and surface mass density profile. We then predict
how the source's surface brightness and kinematics would look like when lensed
by the foreground mass distribution and compare with the mock observed arcs of
strong gravitational lensing systems. For demonstration purposes, we create and
analyse mock data of the strong lensing system RX J1131-1231. By modelling both
the lens and source, we recover the dynamical mass within the effective radius
of strongly lensed high-redshift sources within 5% uncertainty, and we improve
the constraints on the lens mass parameters by up to 50%. This machinery is
particularly well suited for future observations from large segmented-mirror
telescopes, such as the James Webb Space Telescope, that will yield high
sensitivity and angular-resolution IFU data for studying distant and faint

Insecticidal Activity of Lichens against the Maize Weevil, Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky (Coleoptera: Curculionidae
Extracts of Letharia vulpina (L.) Hue and Peltigera rufescens (Weiss) Humb. lichen species and two major lichen compounds (diffractaic and usnic acids), isolated from Usnea longissima Ach., were tested against adults of the maize weevil, Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky under laboratory conditions at various concentrations (2.5, 5, 10, 20 mg.ml-1 for extracts and 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 mg.ml-1 for major compounds) and at 24, 48, 72, and 96 h period. Results showed that both the extracts and the secondary metabolites of U. longissima had significant insecticidal effects on adults of S. zeamais. Mortality rate was the highest at 96 h period at the treatment of maximum concentration of extracts (20 mg.ml -1) and compounds (10 mg.ml-1). The mortality rates attained 96.97, 95.96, 96.97 and 76.77% for L. vulpine, P. rufescens, diffractaic and usnic acids, respectively. No mortality was found in the control. The present results suggest that the lichen extracts and the secondary metabolites can provide a good potential for the control of S. zeamais adults
Insecticidal Effect of the Extracts of Cladonia foliacea (Huds.) Willd. and Flavoparmelia caperata (L.) Hale AgainstAdults of the Grain Weevil, Sitophilus granarius (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)
Four different concentrations of extracts, obtained from the two lichen species (Cladonia foliacea (Huds.) Willd. and Flavoparmelia caperata (L.) Hale), were tested against the grain weevil, Sitophilus granaries (L.) under laboratory conditions. Mortality rate of adults was determined at 24, 48, and 96 h. Obtained results showed that the extracts of C. foliacea and F. caperata had insecticidal effects on the adults of S. granarius in comparison with control. The insecticidal effect was influenced by the concentration of the extract and the exposure time. Higher concentrations and longer exposure time resulted to highest toxicity levels on S. granarius. Mortality rates after 96 h of treatment with highest concentration (20 mg.ml-1) of the extracts of F. caperata and C. foliacea were determined as 91 and 83%, respectively. Bioassay revealed that 96 h LC50 values were 0.107 and 0.354 mg.ml-1, respectively. The results suggest that lichen compounds could be useful as alternatives of pesticides
Variations on Hammersley's interacting particle process
The longest increasing subsequence problem for permutations has been studied
extensively in the last fifty years. The interpretation of the longest
increasing subsequence as the longest 21-avoiding subsequence in the context of
permutation patterns leads to many interesting research directions. We
introduce and study the statistical properties of Hammersleytype interacting
particle processes related to these generalizations and explore the finer
structures of their distributions. We also propose three different interacting
particle systems in the plane analogous to the Hammersley process in one
dimension and obtain estimates for the asymptotic orders of the mean and

Constraints on Non-Commutative Physics Scale with Neutrino-Electron Scattering
Neutrino-electron scatterings () are purely leptonic processes with
robust Standard Model (SM) predictions. Their measurements can therefore
provide constraints to physics beyond SM. Non-commutative (NC) field theories
modify space-time commutation relations, and allow neutrino electromagnetic
couplings at the tree level. Their contribution to neutrino-electron scattering
cross-section was derived. Constraints were placed on the NC scale parameter
from experiments with reactor and accelerator
neutrinos. The most stringent limit of at 95%
