Electronic load as part of the test complex of the power processing unit of electric and plasma propulsion
This article provides the advantages and technical solutions for the use of electronic loads as part of a testing complex of power and management systems of electric and plasma propulsion of three types. The paper shows the parameters that were applied to select the electronic loads and describes their functionality
Single-electron transistor effect in a two-terminal structure
A peculiarity of the single-electron transistor effect makes it possible to
observe this effect even in structures lacking a gate electrode altogether. The
proposed method can be useful for experimental study of charging effects in
structures with an extremely small central island confined between tunnel
barriers like a nanometer-sized quantum dot or a macromolecule probed with a
tunneling microscope), where it is impossible to provide a gate electrode for
control of the tunnel current.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure
Oscillating nematic aerogel in superfluid 3He
We present experiments on nematic aerogel oscillating in superfluid He.
This aerogel consists of nearly parallel mullite strands and is attached to a
vibrating wire moving along the direction of the strands. Previous nuclear
magnetic resonance experiments in He confined in similar aerogel sample
have shown that the superfluid transition of He in aerogel occurs into the
polar phase and the transition temperature () is only slightly
suppressed with respect to the superfluid transition temperature of bulk
He. In present experiments we observed a change in resonant properties of
the vibrating wire at and found that below an additional
resonance mode is excited which is coupled to the main resonance.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure
