Use of transverse beam polarization to probe anomalous VVH interactions at a Linear Collider
We investigate use of transverse beam polarization in probing anomalous
coupling of a Higgs boson to a pair of vector bosons, at the International
Linear Collider (ILC). We consider the most general form of VVH (V = W/Z)
vertex consistent with Lorentz invariance and investigate its effects on the
process e+ e- --> f bar{f} H, f being a light fermion. Constructing observables
with definite CP and naive time reversal (tilde T) transformation properties,
we find that transverse beam polarization helps us to improve on the
sensitivity of one part of the anomalous ZZH coupling that is odd under CP.
Even more importantly it provides the possibility of discriminating from each
other, two terms in the general ZZH vertex, both of which are even under CP and
tilde T. Use of transverse beam polarization when combined with information
from unpolarized and linearly polarized beams therefore, allows one to have
completely independent probes of all the different parts of a general ZZH

In the Company of Citizens: The Rhetorical Contours of Singapore\u27s Neoliberalism
This essay explores how the language and priorities of the corporate world seep into the halls of government, and the ensuing implications of such rhetoric. Situating my analysis in Singapore\u27s National Day Rally addresses from 1960 to 2018, I uncover two rhetorical signatures unique to Singaporean neoliberalism: the location of national character in economic performance, and the act of packaging and selling the nation to its people. I conclude by examining the implications of a corporate constitution of the nation for evoking affective ties to the nation, and by considering the value of Singapore\u27s case to broader critiques of neoliberalism
It\u27s About Time: Reading US-India Cold War Perceptions Through News Coverage of India
Recent attempts to recalibrate the US-India relationship require a clearer understanding of how this relationship began. To that end, this essay traces the themes characterizing early US-India relations through a rhetorical analysis of Time magazine cover portraits and articles from 1951 to 1962 featuring the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru. Acting as an index of the US administration and partly conveying the attitudes of its editor-in-chief toward India, Time advanced a set of arguments about India\u27s unreliability as a Cold War ally and the essential correctness of the US administration\u27s stance against communist nations and those who eschewed open alignment with the US during the Cold War. Time\u27s coverage formed a narrative arc that admonished India\u27s attempts at friendship with China and Cold War neutrality while vindicating the US cause during this period. I conclude that Cold War themes linger in US news reporting on India, argue for more scholarship on non-Western nations, and suggest that, along with verbal texts, images are rich sources of foreign policy rhetoric
Transverse Single Spin Asymmetries and Charmonium Production
We estimate transverse spin single spin asymmetry(TSSA) in the process
using color evaporation model of charmonium
production. We take into account transverse momentum dependent(TMD) evolution
of Sivers function and parton distribution function and show that the there is
a reduction in the asymmetry as compared to our earlier estimates wherein the
- evolution was implemented only through DGLAP evolution of unpolarized

Single Spin Asymmetry in Charmonium Production
We present estimates of Single Spin Asymmetry (SSA) in the electroproduction
of taking into account the transverse momentum dependent (TMD)
evolution of the gluon Sivers function and using Color Evaporation Model of
charmonium production. We estimate SSA for JLab, HERMES, COMPASS and eRHIC
energies using recent parameters for the quark Sivers functions which are
fitted using an evolution kernel in which the perturbative part is resummed up
to next-to-leading logarithms (NLL) accuracy. We find that these SSAs are much
smaller as compared to our first estimates obtained using DGLAP evolution but
are comparable to our estimates obtained using TMD evolution where we had used
