From a forecasting methodology for the electric energy consumption of mono-towns to its sustainability
The need of Russia for a resource-innovative energy strategy for the period up to 2035 makes it urgent to create a methodology of strategic forecasting for the electric energy consumption of mono-towns, which will result in the efficient development of a power supply system, ensuring territories’ sustainability. For this purpose, it is necessary to consider a mono-town as a complete system, a living organism with a definite life cycle and structure of energy consumers. The authors offer a technocoenosis approach to carry out the ranking and structural analysis of the electric energy consumption of one of the Sverdlovsk region’s mono-towns, taking into account dynamics in population, enterprises, organizations and institutions for the period of 5 years. The provided analysis makes it possible to judge the technocoenosis optimality using characteristic exponent β, depending on the structural features of the territory. The authors developed an algorithm for electric energy consumption forecasting, based on Support Vector Machines (SVM), which takes into account the electric energy of mono-towns’ consumers and the climatic factors. Forecasting accuracy was achieved using cross-validation of the input data in order to optimize the training model. The corresponding changes in electric energy consumption, when a characteristic exponent is optimal, will result in a target forecast that provides the sustainable development of mono-towns. © 2014 WIT Press.International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning;WIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environmen
Synthesis of double oxides TiO2-SiO2 with low titanium content by hydrolysis of tetrabutoxytitanium-tetraethoxysilane mixture in an atmosphere of water vapor and ammonia
A series of TiO2-SiO2 binary xerogels with the titanium content lower than 7 mol % were prepared by joint hydrolysis of tetrabutoxytitanium and tetraethoxysilane in a desiccator in the atmosphere of vapor over 5% aqueous NH3 solution under static conditions. The physicochemical properties of the material were examined by IR spectroscopy and by the kinetic method with hydrogen peroxide decomposition as model reaction. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
Diabetes mellitus type 1 and coronary artery disease with severe systolic heart failure in 25 year-old adult
Diabetes mellitus (DM) type 1 accounts for up to 90% of all cases of diabetes among children, adolescents and young adults (10 % are represented by T2DM, MODY, etc.). DM is characterized not only by glucose metabolism disorder, but also by abnormal protein and lipid metabolism, leading to severe macrovascular complications. A clinical case of diabetes type 1, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease (CAD) and chronic heart failure (HF) in a 25-year-old adult has been demonstrated. The medical examination revealed lipid metabolism disorders, multivessel coronary artery disease, which required myocardial revascularization, and severe heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The clinical case demonstrates that proper cardiovascular examination should be performed in all patients with diabetes and lipid disorders, regardless of age and type of diabetes. The authors also consider the use of sodium-glucos
Synthesis of SiO2-TiO2 binary composites with cellulose as the substrate
A procedure for the synthesis of the SiO2-TiO2 binary material was developed. The procedure includes the formation of the silica matrix by impregnating cellulose plates with tetraethoxysilane followed by hydrolysis of the organometallic compound and burning-out of the cellulose constituent; activation of silica with HF; and deposition of titanium dioxide on the surface of the silica matrix by impregnating it with a solution of tetrabutoxytitanium, which is hydrolyzed in water-ammonia atmosphere. The physicochemical properties of the obtained material were studied. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
Synthesis and photoluminescence properties of zinc(II) complexes with salicylaldehyde hetarylhydrazones
New zinc complexes of the salicylaldehyde benzazolyl- and pyrimidinylhydrazones were synthesized. Study of photophysical properties of the hydrazones and their complexes in solution showed that their structure and the luminescence intensities depend on the nature of the heterocyclic fragment included to the molecule. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
Synthesis, structure, and photochemical properties of hetarylaldehydes benzimidazolyl-2-hydrazones
New benzimidazolyl-2-hydrazones of 2-furaldehyde, thiophene-2-carbaldehyde and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde were synthesized and their structure was studied by 1 ? NMR and X-ray analysis. Photochemical properties of these compounds and of benzothiazolyl-2-hydrazones of 2-furaldehyde, thiophene-2-carbaldehyde and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde in solutions were investigated. The process of phototransformation is determined by the nature of the aldehyde fragment of hydrazones. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2010
Laser photolysis study of 1-aryl-3-methyl-5-(benzothiazole-2-yl) formazan phototransformation
Photochromism of 1-aryl-3-methyl-5-(benzothiazole-2-yl)formazans in toluene has been investigated by the laser flash photolysis method. It was established that the photochromic transformations involve the triplet state of the initial chelate form of formazans. The intermediate short-lived products of phototransformation were detected that could be related to one of the conformers or to the tautomers of the formazan molecule. © Pleiades Publishing, Inc., 2011
