Responses of quark condensates to the chemical potential
The responses of quark condensates to the chemical potential, as a function
of temperature T and chemical potential \mu, are calculated within the
Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. We compare our results with those from the
recent lattice QCD simulations [QCD-TARO Collaboration, Nucl. Phys. B (Proc.
Suppl.) 106, 462 (2002)]. The NJL model and lattice calculations show
qualitatively similar behavior, and they will be complimentary ways to study
hadrons at finite density. The behavior above T_c requires more elaborated

Polarization Switching Dynamics Governed by Thermodynamic Nucleation Process in Ultrathin Ferroelectric Films
A long standing problem of domain switching process - how domains nucleate -
is examined in ultrathin ferroelectric films. We demonstrate that the large
depolarization fields in ultrathin films could significantly lower the
nucleation energy barrier (U*) to a level comparable to thermal energy (kBT),
resulting in power-law like polarization decay behaviors. The "Landauer's
paradox": U* is thermally insurmountable is not a critical issue in the
polarization switching of ultrathin ferroelectric films. We empirically find a
universal relation between the polarization decay behavior and U*/kBT.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Integrated energy monitoring and visualization system for Smart Green City development: Designing a spatial information integrated energy monitoring model in the context of massive data management on a web based platform
U-Eco City is a research and development project initiated by the Korean government. The project's objective is the monitoring and visualization of aggregated and real time states of various energy usages represented by location-based sensor data accrued from city to building scale. The platform's middleware will retrieve geospatial data from a GIS database and sensor data from the individual sensory installed over the city and provide the browser-based client with the accommodated information suitable to display geo-location characteristics specific to the respective energy usage. The client will be capable of processing and displaying real time and aggregated data in different dimensions such as time, location, level of detail, mode of visualization, etc. The platform's middleware has been developed into an operative, advanced prototype, providing information to a Web-based client that integrates and interfaces with the Google Earth and Google Maps plug-ins for geospatially referenced energy usage visualization and monitoring
The Matter and the Pseudoscalar Densities in Lattice QCD
The matter and the pseudoscalar densities inside a hadron are calculated via
gauge-invariant equal-time correlation functions. A comparison is made between
the charge charge and the matter density distributions for the pion, the rho,
the nucleon and the within the quenched theory, and with two

Phantom for Evaluating Accuracy of Image Registration Software
Provided is a phantom for evaluating the accuracy of image registration software based on a result of matching tomograms of a predetermined position of the phantom, taken using two or more imaging apparatuses. Accordingly, it is possible to more efficiently evaluate the accuracy of the image registration software by comparing the tomograms with one another using a three-dimensional analysis. In addition, it is possible to facilitate the comparison of the tomograms with one another by installing a plurality of indicating bars in the phantom so that their cross sections can appear on each of the tomograms
