Relaxation in time elapsed neuron network models in the weak connectivity regime
In order to describe the firing activity of a homogenous assembly of neurons,
we consider time elapsed models, which give mathematical descriptions of the
probability density of neurons structured by the distribution of times elapsed
since the last discharge. Under general assumption on the firing rate and the
delay distribution, we prove the uniqueness of the steady state and its
nonlinear exponential stability in the weak connectivity regime. The result
generalizes some similar results obtained in [10] in the case without delay.
Our approach uses the spectral analysis theory for semigroups in Banach spaces
developed recently by the first author and collaborators
Examining client perceptions of partnership quality and its dimensions in an IT outsourcing relationship
This paper reports on an empirical study of the multidimensionality of partnership quality in IT outsourcing arrangements and the relationships between these dimensions of partnership quality. A two-phase national survey was conducted to collect empirical data to confirm the dimensions of partnership quality in an IT outsourcing arrangement from the client organisation perspective and to identify the significant relationships between these dimensions using a second generation multivariate analysis technique—partial least squares
(PLS). The findings from results of the data analyses show that inter-organisational trust, shared business understanding and to a lesser extent, functional and dysfunctional conflict between the client organisation and the outsourcing vendor in an IT outsourcing relationship
are the key determinants of partnership quality. The key outcome variable for high partnership quality between the client organisation and the outsourcing vendor in an IT
outsourcing relationship is mutual beneficial sharing of risks and benefits. Commitment in an IT outsourcing relationship is confirmed as a multidimensional construct of behaviour commitment and temporal/continuance commitment and was found to be influenced by the other dimensions of partnership quality. The key findings of this study provide support for the notion that trust and shared business understanding are key drivers in the IT outsourcing
partnership style relationship ensuring that the sharing of risks and benefits are realised and conflict is minimised leading to a high quality and ultimately successful partnership between the client organisation and the outsourcing vendor. Furthermore our findings indicate that
behavioural commitment to the contractual obligations of an IT outsourcing relationship sustains an ongoing temporal commitment to the partnership between the client organisation and the outsourcing vendor
Corrected confidence intervals for secondary parameters following sequential tests
Corrected confidence intervals are developed for the mean of the second
component of a bivariate normal process when the first component is being
monitored sequentially. This is accomplished by constructing a first
approximation to a pivotal quantity, and then using very weak expansions to
determine the correction terms. The asymptotic sampling distribution of the
renormalised pivotal quantity is established in both the case where the
covariance matrix is known and when it is unknown. The resulting approximations
have a simple form and the results of a simulation study of two well-known
sequential tests show that they are very accurate. The practical usefulness of
the approach is illustrated by a real example of bivariate data. Detailed

Spin-charge separation: From one hole to finite doping
In the presence of nonlocal phase shift effects, a quasiparticle can remain
topologically stable even in a spin-charge separation state due to the
confinement effect introduced by the phase shifts at finite doping. True
deconfinement only happens in the zero-doping limit where a bare hole can lose
its integrity and decay into holon and spinon elementary excitations. The Fermi
surface structure is completely different in these two cases, from a large
band-structure-like one to four Fermi points in one-hole case, and we argue
that the so-called underdoped regime actually corresponds to a situation in
