Experimental Determination of the Mechanical Behavior of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene Composites
AbstractThermoplastic composites have been widely used in structural and engineering applications, due to their high specific strength and stiffness, high strain to failure, better impact strength, shorter processing cycle time, infinite shelf life, and recyclability. This paper discusses the influence of the forming pressure and coupler concentration on the mechanical behavior of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene composite laminates. The Design of Experiments’ (DOE) full factorial approach was adopted for conducting the composite laminate fabrication experiments. The thermoplastic composite laminates were fabricated in a hot compression molding machine, using the film stacking technique. This is an innovative approach to develop thermoplastic composite laminates, using the available low cost raw materials, instead of high end prepreg materials. As per the ASTM standard, the tensile and flexural tests were carried out, in order to evaluate the influence of the parameters on the mechanical behavior of the composite laminates. The Tensile and flexural strengths of the thermoplastic composite laminates were the responses measured to identify the most influencing parameter. The experimental results show that the increase in forming pressure and coupler concentration initially increases both the mechanical properties, and then decreases the properties of the composite laminates. Compared to the coupler concentration, the forming pressure greatly improves both the tensile and flexural properties. Using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), a morphological analysis was carried out to observe the bonding between the matrix and reinforcement

Perceived Usefulness of Banana Pseudostem Processing and Value Addition among Farmers in Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu
This study has been carried out to assess the perceived usefulness of Banana Post Production Mechanisation among farmers in the western region of Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore district was selected because banana cultivating farmers are more in this region and two taluks namely Coimbatore and Mettupalayam were selected at random. From each taluk, 2-3 villages were selected on cluster basis. In each cluster, 15 respondents were selected for research intervention. Thus, in total, 60 respondents were selected for this study. Attributes of Mechanization had been employed through package of banana pseudostem processing equipment and banana rope making equipment among respondents, where the highest mean score was reported in Economic viability
A STUDY ON HYPERPHOSPHATEMIA AND EFFECT OF SEVELAMER ON CARDIAC ENZYME LEVELS IN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE PATIENTS
Objective: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is characterized by progressive loss of kidney function over a period of time. Sevelamer hydrochloride is a phosphate binding agent used to control serum phosphate levels in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients with hyperphosphatemia. Since hyperphosphatemia is associated with acute myocyte injury and elevation of cardiac biomarkers. ESRD patients treated with sevelamer hydrochloride display reduced cardiac biomarker levels due to a decrease in serum phosphate. Therefore, the study was designed to evaluate the effect of sevelamer hydrochloride on cardiac enzyme levels. Methods: This retrospective observational study was carried out in the nephrology department of a multispecialty hospital for a period of two months. Clinical and biochemistry reports of 30 ESRD patients were collected in designed case report forms. All statistical analysis was carried out using International Business Machines-Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 17 (IBM SPSS 17) Statistics package. Results: No significant difference in cardiac enzymes between sevelamer-treated and untreated groups was observed. Hence, further prospective studies on sevelamer hydrochloride are necessary to determine their activity in preventing hyperphosphatemia-induced acute myocyte injury. Conclusion: A direct correlation was observed between cardiac enzyme markers and phosphate levels. However, sevelamer at conventional doses was not found to be effective in reducing acute cardiomyocytes injury caused by hyperphosphatemia. Hence, higher doses sevelamer or other modalities achieving normal serum phosphorous levels are necessary for preventing cardiac damage due to hyperphosphatemia in ESRD patients. Keywords: ESRD, Hyperphosphatemia, Sevelamer, Cardiomyocytes injury
Optimizing Human Vitality - A Fuzzy Deep Learning Approach for Enhancing Organ Endurance in Healthcare
The application of deep learning techniques in healthcare has shown promising results in improving patient outcomes. This study aims to optimize human vitality by enhancing organ endurance using a novel approach based on Fuzzy Variational Autoencoders (VAEs). Specifically, the focus is on diabetes and cardiac arrest datasets, two prevalent conditions that significantly impact organ function. The proposed framework leverages the power of deep learning and fuzzy logic to capture complex relationships and uncertainties inherent in healthcare data. By integrating fuzzy logic principles into the VAE architecture, the model can effectively handle imprecise and uncertain information associated with diabetes and cardiac arrest cases. The VAE framework is trained using a large dataset comprising medical records, clinical variables, and relevant biomarkers. Through an iterative training process, the Fuzzy VAE learns to encode the data of high-dimensional input into a latent space of lower-dimensional one while preserving the essential features and fuzzy relationships. Moreover, the enhanced organ endurance representations obtained from the Fuzzy VAE provide valuable insights into the underlying factors influencing the conditions, aiding in personalized treatment planning and decision-making. The results demonstrate that the Fuzzy VAE approach significantly improves the prediction accuracy and robustness compared to traditional deep learning models
