Qualitative Analysis of Polycycles in Filippov Systems

In this paper, we are concerned about the qualitative behaviour of planar Filippov systems around some typical minimal sets, namely, polycycles. In the smooth context, a polycycle is a simple closed curve composed by a collection of singularities and regular orbits, inducing a first return map. Here, this concept is extended to Filippov systems by allowing typical singularities lying on the switching manifold. Our main goal consists in developing a method to investigate the unfolding of polycycles in Filippov systems. In addition, we applied this method to describe bifurcation diagrams of Filippov systems around certain polycycles

The role of anxiety in binge eating behavior: a critical examination of theory and empirical literature

    Get PDF
The purpose of this manuscript is to expand the understanding of binge eating by reviewing the role of aspects of negative affect. Specifically, this paper will present evidence for further investigation of the bearing that anxiety may have in binge eating development and maintenance. A comprehensive review of the literature regarding the relation of binge eating and anxiety was performed. Valuable contributions have been made to the binge eating literature regarding some aspects of negative affect (i.e., depression); however, outside of bulimia nervosa studies, much of the theoretical and empirical binge eating research to date has not directly addressed the role of anxiety. Research supports expansion of investigations of negative emotionality and binge eating to include specific study of anxiety. Greater inclusivity and specificity in the unique contributions of various negative emotions may further the development of temporal models and intervention efforts

Computing Symmetric Block Cipher Using Linear Algebraic Equation.

    Get PDF
In this paper, a pair of symmetric block ciphers has been developed for encryption and decryption of text file. The characters in the file are represented by the ASCII codes. A substitution table and a reverse substitution table are formed by using a key. The process of encryption and decryption is carried by using linear algebraic equations. However, the cryptanalysis has been discussed for establishing the strength of the algorithm. Result and analysis exhibits that the current algorithm works well and more secured to break the cipher

Scaling of human behavior during portal browsing

We investigate transitions of portals users between different subpages. A weighted network of portals subpages is reconstructed where edge weights are numbers of corresponding transitions. Distributions of link weights and node strengths follow power laws over several decades. Node strength increases faster than linearly with node degree. The distribution of time spent by the user at one subpage decays as power law with exponent around 1.3. Distribution of numbers P(z) of unique subpages during one visit is exponential. We find a square root dependence between the average z and the total number of transitions n during a single visit. Individual path of portal user resembles of self-attracting walk on the weighted network. Analytical model is developed to recover in part the collected data.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure

The purpose of this study was to test and analyze the technology acceptance model which consists of the variables perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, intention to use and actual use of QRIS digital payment technology. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Kutai Kartanegara who used QRIS. The research sample is 60 students who use QRIS digital payment technology. Sampling used purposive sampling technique and data analysis tool used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4 software version 4.8.9. Based on the results of research where Perceived Ease of Use has a positive and significant effect on Intention to Use with t-statistics > t-table (2.049 > 1.96) so that the first hypothesis is accepted and proven true. Perceived usefulness has a positive and significant effect on intention to use with t-statistics > t-table (3.861 > 1.96) so that the second hypothesis is accepted and proven true. Intention to use has a positive and significant effect on actual use with t-statistics > t-table (5.514 > 1.96) so that the third hypothesis is accepted and proven true.Abstract: The purpose of this study was to test and analyze the technology acceptance model which consists of the variables perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, intention to use and actual use of QRIS digital payment technology. Update on Fermion Mass Models with an Anomalous Horizontal U(1) Symmetry

We reconsider models of fermion masses and mixings based on a gauge anomalous horizontal U(1) symmetry. In the simplest model with a single flavon field and horizontal charges of the same sign for all Standard Model fields, only very few charge assignements are allowed when all experimental data, including neutrino oscillation data, is taken into account. We show that a precise description of the observed fermion masses and mixing angles can easily be obtained by generating sets of the order one parameters left unconstrained by the U(1) symmetry. The corresponding Yukawa matrices show several interesting features which may be important for flavour changing neutral currents and CP violation effects in supersymmetric models.Comment: 23 pages, 8 figure
