A novel approach of mobility management for the D2D communications in 5G mobile cellular network system
© 2016 IEICE. The concept of 5G is regarded to gain 1000× data speed with 20 Billion devices (IoT) connected to the network which will literary connect everything. From the network point of view, lower latency combined with high flexibility is not just limited to the concept of 5G but already on the way to be implemented in real network by 2020. In a cellular network, Device to Device (D2D) communication has been viewed as a promising technology to overcome many existed problems especially the capacity and quality considering the scarce spectrum resource. However, this comes at the price of huge interference and complex mobility issues although it was initially proposed as a new paradigm to enhance the network performance. Cellular devices without smooth mobility readiness are hardly acceptable. A smart mobility system in cellular in-band underlay D2D communication should have lower latency, lower power consumption, and higher data rates. My proposition is to review the existing mobility management system for the LTE-Advanced technology and propose a unique algorithm over the existing proposal so that lower signalling overhead and lower delay along with uninterrupted D2D communication are guaranteed for the 5G cellular communication system by 2020
Universal Properties of Linear Magnetoresistance in Strongly Disordered Semiconductors
Linear magnetoresistance occurs in semiconductors as a consequence of strong
electrical disorder and is characterized by nonsaturating magnetoresistance
that is proportional to the applied magnetic field. By investigating a
disordered MnAs-GaAs composite material, it is found that the magnitude of the
linear magnetoresistance (LMR) is numerically equal to the carrier mobility
over a wide range and is independent of carrier density. This behavior is
complementary to the Hall effect that is independent of the mobility and
dependent on the carrier density. Moreover, the LMR appears to be insensitive
to the details of the disorder and points to a universal explanation of
classical LMR that can be applied to other material systems.Comment: Accepted by Phys. Rev. B (2010
Modeling the Effect of APC Truncation on Destruction Complex Function in Colorectal Cancer Cells
In colorectal cancer cells, APC, a tumor suppressor protein, is commonly expressed in truncated form. Truncation of APC is believed to disrupt degradation of β-catenin, which is regulated by a multiprotein complex called the destruction complex. The destruction complex comprises APC, Axin, β-catenin, serine/threonine kinases, and other proteins. The kinases CK1α and GSK-3β, which are recruited by Axin, mediate phosphorylation of β-catenin, which initiates its ubiquitination and proteosomal degradation. The mechanism of regulation of β-catenin degradation by the destruction complex and the role of truncation of APC in colorectal cancer are not entirely understood. Through formulation and analysis of a rule-based computational model, we investigated the regulation of β-catenin phosphorylation and degradation by APC and the effect of APC truncation on function of the destruction complex. The model integrates available mechanistic knowledge about site-specific interactions and phosphorylation of destruction complex components and is consistent with an array of published data. We find that the phosphorylated truncated form of APC can outcompete Axin for binding to β-catenin, provided that Axin is limiting, and thereby sequester β-catenin away from Axin and the Axin-recruited kinases CK1α and GSK-3β. Full-length APC also competes with Axin for binding to β-catenin; however, full-length APC is able, through its SAMP repeats, which bind Axin and which are missing in truncated oncogenic forms of APC, to bring β-catenin into indirect association with Axin and Axin-recruited kinases. Because our model indicates that the positive effects of truncated APC on β-catenin levels depend on phosphorylation of APC, at the first 20-amino acid repeat, and because phosphorylation of this site is mediated by CK1ε, we suggest that CK1ε is a potential target for therapeutic intervention in colorectal cancer. Specific inhibition of CK1ε is predicted to limit binding of β-catenin to truncated APC and thereby to reverse the effect of APC truncation
A dynamic almost blank subframe scheme for video streaming traffic model in heterogeneous networks
© 2015 IEEE. In heterogeneous network (HetNet), the coverage area of picocell is small due to transmission power difference between macro eNodeB (eNB) and pico eNB. As a result, the traffic load is distributed unequally which yields to macrocell overloading. In order to overcome this issue, cell range expansion (CRE) technique has been proposed. However, the CRE approach can affect the downlink signal quality of the offloaded users and then these users experience high downlink interference from macro eNB on their control and data channels. Therefore, such inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) techniques are needed to realize the promised capacity and coverage. Enhanced ICIC (eICIC) is a time domain technique to mitigate interference in HetNets using almost blank subframes (ABSs). However, the static ABS value cannot support the dynamic changing of network conditions. In this paper, a dynamic ABS scheme is proposed based on Genetic Algorithm to find the best ABS value and ABS locations in a frame to mitigate interference problem between macrocell and picocells for video streaming traffic model. Exhaustive simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the system performance in terms of throughput, outage probability and delay
Allozyme and morphological variation in four hatchery stocks of Thai pangas, Pangasius hypophthalmus in Mymensingh, Bangladesh
Genetic and morphological characters of four hatchery population (Shambhuganj, Brahmaputra, Anudan and Bhai-Bhai) of Thai pangas, Pangasius hypophthalmus in Mymensingh region of Bangladesh was studied using morphological characters and allozyme markers from 29 November 2001 to 29 November 2002. A total of 14 morphometric and 6 meristic characters were verified, among which 3 morphometric (BDA, PELFL and HW) and 2 meristic characters (AFR, CFR) of Anudan hatchery population were found to be significantly higher (p>0.001) than those of the other three
hatchery populations. Brahmaputra hatchery population was also significantly higher in two meristic characters (PCFR and CFR). For allozyme electrophoresis nine enzyme markers were used viz.: Esr-1*, G3pdh-2*, Gpi-1*, Gpi-2*, Ldh-1*, Ldh-2*, Mdh-1*, Mdh-2* and Pgm* where three loci (Esr-1*, Gpi-2* and Pgm*) were polymorphic (p>0.95) in Anudan and Brahmaputra hatchery populations. The mean proportion of polymorphic loci per population was higher (33.3%) in Brahmaputra and Anudan hatchery populations. Also the expected heterozygosity levels were 0.149 and 0.177 in
Brahmaputra and Anudan hatchery populations, respectively. Based on Nei's (1972) genetic distances, the UPGMA dendrogram grouped the populations into two clusters. The Brahmaputra and Anudan populations are in one group; Shambhuganj, and Bhai-Bhai populations are in the second group. High genetic variation in Thai pangas was observed in the Brahmaputra and Anudan hatchery populations and less variation in the other two hatchery populations
INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF NF-κB, COX-1, COX-2, COMT, IL-10, IL-6 AND TNF-α IN MODULATING ANTI-NOCICEPTIVE ACTIVITY OF METHANOLIC EXTRACT OF ENTADA PHASEOLOIDES
Objective: To investigate the analgesic activity of methanolic extract of Entada phaseoloides (MEEP) along with its molecular mechanistic pathway.
Methods: Swiss albino female mice and Wistar rats of either sex were administered orally with MEEP extracts (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) and pentazocine, tramadol and diclofenac sodium, as standard drugs. Following administration, anti-nociceptive activity was evaluated using an acetic acid-induced writhing test, Eddy’s hot plate, and hot water immersion test. Serum was collected for molecular expression of various proteins and genes using Reverse Transcriptase PCR and Western Blotting.
Results: Acetic acid writhing test, a frequently used method to assess peripheral analgesic activity, revealed that MEEP reduced peripherally induced pain in a dose-dependent manner. Likewise, Eddy’s hot plate and hot water immersion methods, often implicated for testing central analgesic activities, showed that MEEP is bestowed with the capability to counteract analgesia in a dose and time-dependent manner. Pro-inflammatory cytokines and factors like COX-2, IL-6, TNF-α, and NF-κB that cause inflammatory responses and pain were significantly reduced, suggesting its analgesic and anti-inflammatory potential. This analgesic and the anti-inflammatory role played by MEEP is also supported by the up-regulation of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 and COMT and COX-1 enzyme demonstrated no significant difference between the groups.
Conclusion: The study revealed the weak peripheral and potent central analgesic property MEEP by modulating pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory pathways
