GLOBE - A school project with special reference to science, education and environment

GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) is an international grogram, which connects education and science in the environmental sector. Schools all over the world form a tight network in order to measure certain parameters out of climate, hydrology, soil and biology. These schools are supported by scientists who use the data for research. In this way, a more detailed view about environmental changes can be detected. So far, over 10,000 schools in over 95 countries are involved in GLOBE. Besides using modern measuring devices and telecommunication systems. GLOBE is a very good platform for educational issues (e.g. sustainable development) and to promote hands on science. Additionally, GLOBE is giving schools the opportunity to initiate schools collaborations
