Socioeconophysics: Opinion Dynamics for number of transactions and price, a trader based model
Involving effects of media, opinion leader and other agents on the opinion of
individuals of market society, a trader based model is developed and utilized
to simulate price via supply and demand. Pronounced effects are considered with
several weights and some personal differences between traders are taken into
account. Resulting time series and probabilty distribution function involving a

Opinion dynamics driven by leaders, media, viruses and worms
A model on the effects of leader, media, viruses, and worms and other agents
on the opinion of individuals is developed and utilized to simulate the
formation of consensus in society and price in market via excess between supply
and demand. Effects of some time varying drives, (harmonic and hyperbolic) are
also investigated.

Open borders, closed minds: the discursive construction of national identity in North Cyprus
The article investigates the discursive construction of a Turkish Cypriot national
identity by the newspapers in North Cyprus. It questions the representation and
reconstruction processes of national identity within the press and examines the
various practices employed to mobilize readers around certain national imaginings.
Using Critical Discourse Analysis, the article analyses news reports of the opening of
border crossings in Cyprus in 2003, based on their content, the strategies used in the
production of national identity and the linguistic means employed in the process. In this
way, the nationalist tendencies embedded in news discourses, as well as discriminatory
and exclusive practices, are sought out
Mechanics of milling 48-2-2 gamma titanium aluminide
Accurate and fast prediction of cutting forces is important in high-performance cutting in the aerospace industry. Gamma titanium aluminide (gamma-TiAl) is a material of choice for aerospace and automotive applications due to its superior thermo-mechanical properties. Nevertheless, it is a difficult to machine material. This article presents the prediction of cutting forces for Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb (48-2-2) gamma-TiAl in milling process using orthogonal to oblique transformation technique. The novelty of this paper lies in reporting the orthogonal database of 48-2-2 gamma-TiAl. Fundamental cutting parameters such as shear stress, friction angle and shear angle are calculated based on experimental measurements. Friction coefficients are identified for two different coating conditions which are AlTiN, and AlCrN on carbide tools. Predicted results are validated with the experimental cutting forces during end milling and ball-end milling operations for different cutting conditions. Load displacement relationship for a rigid circular foundation anchored by Mindlin solutions
AbstractIn the present paper, Mindlin’s solutions are used (Mindlin, 1936) [1] to estimate the load–displacement relationship for a circular foundation for ground anchors. Constant, linearly and parabolically varied anchor loads are applied to the foundation. The closed form analytical solutions derived by Selvadurai are used in the analysis. Effects of the length of the anchor region, its depth of location and the distribution of load within the anchor region are investigated in this article. The analytical solutions are also compared with finite element analysis and the results are given

Chemogenetic Operation of iNTRacellular prOton Levels(pH-Control)is a novel substrate-based enzymatic method that enables precise spatiotemporalcontrol of ultralocal acidification in cultured cell lines and primaryneurons. The genetically encoded biosensor SypHer3s showed that pH-Controleffectively acidifies cytosolic, mitochondrial, and nuclear pH exclusivelyin the presence of beta-chloro-d-alanine in living cellsin a concentration-dependent manner. Ion source and LEBT of KAHVELab proton beamline
The KAHVE Laboratory, at Bo\u{g}azi\c{c}i University, Istanbul, Turkey is
home to an educational proton linac project. The proton beam will originate
from a 20 keV H+ source and will be delivered to a two module Radio Frequency
Quadrupole (RFQ) operating at 800 MHz via a low energy beam transport (LEBT)
line. Currently, the design phase being over, commissioning and stability tests
are ongoing for the proton beamline which is already produced and installed
except the RFQ which is being manufactured. This work summarizes the design,
production and test phases of the ion source and LEBT line components
Gate-Controlled Ionization and Screening of Cobalt Adatoms on a Graphene Surface
We describe scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) measurements performed on
individual cobalt (Co) atoms deposited onto backgated graphene devices. We find
that Co adatoms on graphene can be ionized by either the application of a
global backgate voltage or by the application of a local electric field from a
scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip. Large screening clouds are observed to
form around Co adatoms ionized in this way, and we observe that some intrinsic
graphene defects display a similar behavior. Our results provide new insight
into charged impurity scattering in graphene, as well as the possibility of
using graphene devices as chemical sensors.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figure
Existence of Hamiltonians for Some Singular Interactions on Manifolds
The existence of the Hamiltonians of the renormalized point interactions in
two and three dimensional Riemannian manifolds and that of a relativistic
extension of this model in two dimensions are proven. Although it is much more
difficult, the proof of existence of the Hamiltonian for the renormalized
resolvent for the non-relativistic Lee model can still be given. To accomplish
these results directly from the resolvent formula, we employ some basic tools
