Exact counting of Euler Tours for Graphs of Bounded Treewidth

In this paper we give a simple polynomial-time algorithm to exactly count the number of Euler Tours (ETs) of any Eulerian graph of bounded treewidth. The problems of counting ETs are known to be #P-complete for general graphs (Brightwell and Winkler, (Brightwell and Winkler, 2005). To date, no polynomial-time algorithm for counting Euler tours of any class of graphs is known except for the very special case of series-parallel graphs (which have treewidth 2).Comment: 16 pages, draf

Exploring notions of genre in 'academic literacies' and 'writing across the curriculum': approaches across countries and contexts

The SIGET IV panel on genre in Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and “academic literacies” (ACLITS) has set rolling a discussion of the similarities and differences in the two traditions, the former originating in the US in the early 1970s, the latter originating in England in the early 1990s. This paper maps out some elements of each in relation to the other and to genre, which we hope will set in motion further discussions and cross-fertilization

Speechreading ability in children with functional articulation difficulty and in children with normal articulation

In administering speech therapy to children with normal hearing and functional articulation difficulties, it was noted that some children made little voluntary use of visual cues; eye contact between therapist and student during direct articulation therapy was infrequent. This observation led the examiner to seek a possible relationship between articulation ability and the ability to use visual cues, specifically in speechreading. To test the hypothesis of a possible inverse relationship between the speechreading ability of a normal hearing sample of children with articulation problems and a matched sample of children with normal speech, the examiner chose twenty-five children with functional articulation difficulties and twenty-five children with normal articulation
