His primary area of focus is climate change and sustainable development policy and practice.Marilyn A. Brown is a professor in the School of Public Policy. Her current research addresses the development and deployment of sustainable energy technologies and the design of policy options to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.Kevin Kelly assists the Southface Energy Institute with energy policy development, with a special focus on promoting clean energy solutions to meet environmental regulations.Karen Hays in the Branch Chief of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Air Protection Branch.Michael Elliot is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech. His research focuses on the effectiveness and efficiency of comparative approaches to addressing environmental problems.Katie Southworth is a consultant at the Natural Resources Defense Council.Runtime: 73:13 minutesIn August 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released the Clean Power Plan, which aims to reduce carbon pollution from the U.S. power sector to 32% below 2005 levels by 2030. Georgia must submit its initial state plan for implementing the Clean Power Plan by September 2016. Georgia Tech and Climate@Emory are co-hosting a Town Hall meeting to explore the key decisions Georgia must make in developing its state plan and the potential impacts these decisions will have on our environment, our economy, our pocketbooks and our health.
