Market orientation critical success factors of Malaysian manufacturers and its impact on financial performance
The study examines critical success factors of market orientation in the context of Malaysian firms. Besides, the study also investigates the relationship between market orientation and financial performance. Malaysian manufacturing firms represent the sample of the study. Data was collected using mail questionnaire survey approach. One hundred and fifty eight Malaysian manufacturing organizations participated in this study. Results of this study indicated that there were five critical success factors of market orientation practices in the context of Malaysian manufacturing firms: market focus, market action, market planning, market feedback and market coordination. The results also revealed that market action and market planning were positively related to financial performance. The outcome of this study provides vital information from a developing country perspective on the impact of market orientation practices on manufacturing organisations’ performance
Does ownership structure matter for publicly listed companies performance in Malaysia?
The word of corporate governance has become a very important concept that requires many countries around the world to concentrate on it reformation. Globalisation of markets, open markets competition, and international business has generated awareness about the importance of improving corporate governance practices.Protecting shareholders and other stakeholders are also being attentive agenda and play important roles in corporate governance reformation due to ensure their value creation and their right as the owner of shares.This article attempts to address this issue by examining the relationship between ownership structure and firm performance. The hypothesis is tested by assessing the impact of the structure of ownership on firm performance, using data for 237 Malaysia Public Listed Companies (PLCs). A survey of women entrepreneurs in Malaysia: A case of Siti Khadijah Market, Kelantan and Pekan Rabu, Kedah
Efforts taken by Malaysian government to encourage her people to venture into business are undeniable.As women constitute nearly half of the total population, women’s contribution towards national economic development has been recognized by Malaysian government. Women have to compete together with men in order to ensure that their status within the society is uplifted. Their involvement as business entrepreneurs make them at par with other successful male counterparts. This paper is to look at women entrepreneurs at both Siti Khadijah Market, Kelantan and Pekan Rabu, Kedah.Data were based on research done to both places.The findings of the research show that strong competition has been identified as the most challenge those women faced as an entrepreneur. Besides, assisting family total income is the most influencing factor that lead them to become entrepreneurs and acquiring appropriate skills as entrepreneur is also has been identified will further improve on their way of doing business
Women and entrepreneurship: An overview of women entrepreneurship programs in Malaysia
Entrepreneurs have been recognized by many as the catalyst for economic growth and development.Raising women as entrepreneurs is a part of current government initiative.Although women entrepreneurs have become more important players in the entrepreneurial landscape, the number is still small as compared to businesses owned by men.This paper will look into the entreperneurial programs implemented by governmental agencies in Malaysia.After looking at the programs, analysis of the programs will be further discussed. Indeed, this paper found that there are only a number of entrepreneurship programs which are specially designed for women by some selected agencies despites lack of evaluation of existing entrepreneurship programs

industrial value creation in the early industrialized countries is shaped by the development towards the fourth stage of industrialization, the so-called Industry 4.0. This development provides immense opportunities for the realization of sustainable manufacturing. The aim of this study is to investigate the recent development and practice of Industry 4.0 in MNCs and provide empirical information on the
potentials of implementing Industry 4.0 in SMEs. The present research will be conducted in twofold via sequential exploratory mixed method approach. The first (qualitative) phase will be examining MNCs in Malaysia who have successfully implemented the Industry 4.0. Upon understanding their experiences in implementing Industry 4.0, a research instrument will be developed which will be utilized in the second (quantitative) phase of the study.SME manufacturers will be investigated on their awareness and adoption issues pertaining to the Industry 4.0.The findings of this study expected to provide new directions and new
practical insights in Industry 4.0 revolution practices in manufacturing SMEs in Malaysia. Perception on Crime: Knowledge and Awareness among Males and Females in Malaysia
Government of Malaysia has put forward various efforts and policies in reducing crime consistently with the national development process in order to enhance the quality of life of citizens. The establishment of Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) in the year 1993 has geared government efforts towards crime prevention. Malaysia government aims to reduce the crime index by five percent annually during the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP) period of 2016 to 2020 and increase the perception of feeling safe to 60 percent in 2020. Females are said to demonstrate lower arrest rates than males for many crimes involved except prostitution. This is true in all countries for which data are available for all racial and ethnic groups, and for every historical period. Prior research has consistently shown that women are more afraid of crime than men. Statistics have been consistent in reporting that men commit more criminal acts than women. However, recent trend claim that crime committed by women are increasingly faster than male, as measured by the percentage of female arrests in certain countries. Hence, relevant knowledge and awareness on crime must be disseminated widely to reduce an increment in crime statistic be it among perpetrator or victim.
