STUDENTS’ PROBLEMS IN SPEAKING AT TWELFTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 7 TUNGKAL ULU
This study aims to find out the problems of the students' in speaking English at SMA Negeri 7 Tungkal Ulu. The design of the research is by using descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research is twelve grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Tungkal Ulu. This research data was collected using interview, from the finding and discussion, students have problems in speaking. The problems consist of linguistic and psychological problems. In linguistic problems, students experience problems with vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. In psychological problems, students experience problems, that is fear of making mistakes, shyness and lack of confidence. From these problems, the most dominant problems are vocabulary, pronunciation and fear of mistakes. Most of students stated that they are afraid to speak English because they lack of vocabulary, pronunciation and fear of mistakes. Students feel afraid if they make mistakes in pronouncing the words or sentences in English and use vocabulary with their limitations. In this research, the re-searcher suggest that students can increase their ability in speaking English and reduce their problem inspeaking English.

STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF ONLINE ASSESSMENT IN ENGLISH SUMMATIVE TEST AT ELEVENT GRADE OF SMAN 1 TANJUNG JABUNG BARAT
The goal of this study was to investigate how the students perceive the use of
online assessment in English summative test at SMAN 1 Tanjung Jabung Barat.
This study was employed qualitative research design in which the data were
obtained by interviewing and observing the students of XI IPA 3. The findings are
presented into three categories based on (Walgito, 2010) theory; cognitive aspect,
conative aspect, and affective aspect. Based on the result of the study, most of the
students give a positive perception about online assessment especially in the
cognitive and conative aspect. The students believed that online assessment was an
efficient, interested and useful system to conduct online examination. The negative
perception was found in the affective aspect where the online assessment was
somewhat intimidating. Students feel anxious when the server is disruption and the
network is unstable
TEACHER’S FEEDBACK ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING AT ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF UIN SULTHAN THAHA SAIFUDDIN JAMBI
Tujuan dari pemberian umpan balik adalah untuk memperbaiki kesalahan siswa dan untuk mengingatkan mereka agar dapat menghindari kesalahan yang sama. Penelitian ini focus pada jenis-jenis umpan balik yang digunakan oleh guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Program Studi Bahasa Inggris UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru yang mengajar kelas speaking di semester dua Program Studi Bahasa Inggris. Desain penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen penelitian observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari analisis data pada penelitian ini yaitu guru menggunakan reacast dan repetition sebagai umpan balik yang digunakan di dalam pembelajaran. Recast adalah umpan balik tanpa secara langsung mengindikasikan bahwa ungkapan siswa memiliki kesalahan sedangkan repetition adalah umpan balik yang mana guru mengulangi kesalahan siswa dengan menonjolkan kesalahan tersebut
STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY IN LEARNING ENGLISH AT ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM
This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of technology in learning English. This study uses quantitative methods in the form of survey. This method is considered the right approach for this type of research. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires via Google form to all second and sixth semester students of the English Study Program. This study explores student perceptions that come from students' experiences during the learning process. The results of this study are presented to reveal students' perceptions comprehensively. This study received a positive response about students' perception of the use of technology by obtaining a Likert scale score of 72.9 means Agree (A). It can be concluded that technology can be said to be good enough to continue to be used in the learning system
TEACHERS' CHALLENGES IN TEACHING ENGLISH AT SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 18 JAMBI
This study aims to determine the challenges of teachers in teaching English at the seventh grade students of Junior High School 18 Jambi. The method used in this study was a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, researchers used observation sheets and interview sheets in collecting data. The results of data collection, the researchers found several challenges for teachers in teaching English at seventh grade students of Junior High School 18 Jambi. These challenges come from dealing with students, facilities in schools and from the teachers themselves. The challenges include: lack of student interest in learning English, lack of basic knowledge of students about English lessons, the use of mother tongue when learning English, facilities at school, teacher unfamiliarity in technology and insufficient time lesson hours due to the Covid-19 pandemic that happen right now
STUDENTS'PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF EDMODO IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AT BAITURRAHIM JAMBI
This study aims to determine students‟ perception of the Edmodo
application at eight grade students of Baiturrahim Jambi Junior High School. This
research used qualitative descriptive research. The participants of this study were
20 students. Technical of selecting the sample was an incidental technique. Data
were collected by using interview. In this study, researcher used the steps of
analyzing the data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. Based on the
results of the study, researcher found that students‟ had difficulty in understanding
the teaching materials provided by the teacher through the edmodo application
TEACHER'S FEEDBACK ON STUDENTS' SPEAKING PERFORMANCES IN ENGLISH LESSON AT MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH RAUDHATUL MUHAJIRIN
Teacher corrective feedback is the feedback that given by the teacher directly in the learning process. Give the corrective feedback to the students is aimed to revise the students’ mistakes in the students speaking performances and make the students more motivated to improve the speaking skill on their speaking performances in the next time . In this research focuses on how the English teacher give corrective feedback and what are the types of teacher’s feedback on students’ speaking performances in English lesson at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Raudhatul Muhajirin. The researcher used qualitative research method. The subject of this research were English teacher and eight grade students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Raudhatul Muhajirin. English teacher at eight grade of this school is the only one. The researcher used observation and interview for collecting the data. Observation process carried out during the learning process in the classroom. The researcher did the observation in three times and did the interview in a once. The result of the research showed that the English teacher mostly used the directly feedback when give corrective feedback on students’ speaking performances. The types of feedback that given by the English teacher such as: recast feedback, clarification and repetition for correcting the students speaking error in the students’ speaking performances at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Raudhatul Muhajrin
TUDENTS’ DIFFICULTY IN LEARNING ENGLISH AT THE EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS OF MTSN 5 KERINCI
The aims of this study was to find out the difficulties faced by students and
identify the causes of students’ difficulty in learning English at the eight grade
students of MTsN 5 Kerinci. The methodology of the research was descriptive
qualitative approach. The data was collected through observation and interview of 12
students at the eight grade students of MTsN 5 Kerinci. From the finding and
discussion, the researcher found several difficulties and cause difficulties in learning
English. The first is the difficulties coming from students, they are low motivation,
lack of vocabulary, poor of grammar, lack of confidence, shyness and nervousness.
The second is the difficulties coming from the environment, that is unsupportive
environment. From difficulties the dominantly difficulties is lack of confidence.
Most of students stated that they afraid of making mistake when practicing English.

AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ INTEREST IN EXTENSIVE READING TEXT AT THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MTs NURURRODHIYAH JAMBI
The aim of this research is to know what kind of reading text do the students interest in extensive reading and to analyze what are the factors make the students are interested in extensive reading at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nururrodhiyah Kota Jambi. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The design used is a survey research. The data was collected through a questionnaire. There were 105 students of eight graders at MTs Nururrodhiyah Jambi participated in this research. In this research, the researcher found that first, the highest percentage of the extensive reading text is short story, it proves that short story is the sort of reading text the students interest among extensive reading text at the eight grade students at MTs Nururrodhiyah kota Jambi with the highest percentage 64.8%. Second, The reason why most of students interest in extensive reading text because they like when have a reading assignment text, they feel that reading professional articles, essays, technical reports, short stories, and books affect their behavior and attitude, and they even enjoy to read them wherever they stay because they agree that it is easy to find out those kinds of extensive reading text both at library and internet
