The Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn Sum Rule and Current Algebras

The status of the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rules for polarized inclusive photo-production on nucleons is reviewed. It is shown that results from currently available data compare favorably with an estimate based on an extended current algebra. Implications for integrals of spin-dependent structure functions are also briefly discussed.Comment: 8 Page

Generalization of the model-independent Laurent-Pietarinen single-channel pole-extraction formalism to multiple channels

A method to extract resonance pole information from single-channel partial-wave amplitudes based on a Laurent (Mittag-Leffler) expansion and conformal mapping techniques has recently been developed. This method has been applied to a number of reactions and provides a model-independent extraction procedure which is particularly useful in cases where a set of amplitudes is available only at descrete energies. This method has been generalized and applied to the case of a multi-channel fit, where several sets of amplitudes are analysed simultaneously. The importance of unitarity constraints is discussed. The final result provides a powerful, model-independent tool for analyzing partial-wave amplitudes of coupled or connected channels based entirely on the concepts of analyticity and unitarity

Unified Chew-Mandelstam SAID analysis of pion photoproduction data

A unified description of single-pion photoproduction data, together with pion- and eta-hadroproduction data, has been achieved in a Chew-Mandelstam parametrization which is consistent with unitarity at the two-body level. Energy-dependent and single-energy partial wave analyses of pion photoproduction data have been performed and compared to previous SAID fits and multipoles from the Mainz and Bonn-Gatchina groups.Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, and 2 table

Extended SAID Partial-Wave Analysis of Pion Photoproduction

A unified Chew-Mandelstam description of single-pion photoproduction data, together with pion- and eta-hadroproduction data, has been extended to include measurements carried out over the last decade. We consider photo-decay amplitudes evaluated at the pole with particular emphasis on ng couplings and the influence of weighting on our fits. Both energy-dependent and single-energy analysis (energy-binned data) are considered.Comment: 30 pages, 18 figures, and 14 table
