SHIFTING THE SHAPE AND FUNCTION OF THE JOGLO HOUSE IN THE BANYUWANGI REGION

The Joglo building is one of the original Javanese buildings which has meaning in every arrangement or shape that symbolizes the life of the people. There are several arrangement of rooms in the Joglo and it is divided into three parts, namely the meeting room or what Javanese people usually call it the pendopo, the middle room or room which is usually used to hold performances and is usually called pringgitan, and the last room is the back room or also called the dalem and also called omah jero. as a family room or family gathering room that is private. In this room there are three senthong (rooms) namely senthong left, senthong center and senthong right. The pavilion as an open space serves to receive guests. The structure of the building in the pavilion uses a pedestal as the base of the pillar, 4 pillars of the teacher (main pillar). The author uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely, a method based on existing data at the present time or an investigation aimed at solving problems that exist in the present.
