Since Francis Bacon coined the phrase "knowledge is power" in 1597, we have become acquainted with the concept. Knowledge is power is particularly true in the postindustrial society. Such a phenomenon as "high-tech" eliminates the distinction between scientific laboratory and manufacture. Nowadays, to be powerful means not only to be intelligent but also to be successful. Education systems are thus supposed to provide a person with knowledge that helps him to succeed. We think it will be productive to identify the boundaries of education systems that restrict their effectiveness. The information-synergetic approach enabled us to assess the effectiveness of the education systems

Today, the quality of human capital and active involvement of the disadvantaged people into socioeconomic and political life are the main challenges for the Russian Federation as it is going through another round of modernization. Despite the government allowances, the disadvantaged groups have no motivation to improve their human capital assets and to construct own career. In the paper, we propose the project that aims at impacting the wellbeing of the disadvantaged social groups. We will study the traditional and emerging structural forms of inequality in the context of complicated social reality and an increased rate of social changes, to identify the factors that improve or affect career construction and quality of life of every disadvantaged social group. Referring to career theoretical models and variables, a set of qualitative and quantitative measures will be used to assess strengths and weaknesses of involved people and to better understand relations among variables. These research results allow us to develop and implement career intervention programs aimed at improving people resources and facilitating career and life constructions, as well as social and work participation. These interventions will be devoted both to people with disabilities and their significant others

The primary purpose of the research reported in this article is to propose a methodological approach to the teaching of bioethics in Russia. The American practice of teaching bioethics was chosen as a reference considering their extensive experience of teaching bioethics in medical universities. The conceptual information process model was used to perform interdisciplinary research on the problem. The conceptual information process model enabled us to adopt the American bioethics curriculum in accordance with Russian traditions of medical education. A new bioethics curriculum is proposed based on this model. The information process model not only reveals the mechanism of social self-organization, but also gives a methodological β€œclue” for creating a cross-disciplinary curriculum. This curriculum will permit researchers to access, negotiate and overcome fundamental differences between Russia and the USA in the teaching of bioethics
