Monologue, dialogue and ideology : the discourse of equality of the Israeli radio from 1957 to 1987

On the basis of an analysis of interviews broadcast by Israeli radio over a period of approximately 30 years, the author shows that despite efforts to maintain the "monologue" format of radio news broadcasts and a style modelled on the BBC of Lord Keith's day, a tendency of dialogue is progressively becoming established particularly in the manner of presenting news. In news bulletins the monologue still dominates but in news magazines the interview prevails. The practice of interviews brings growing equality marked by a decline of the authoritative figure and a redefinition of the journalist's role.A partir d'analyses d'interviews diffusées à la radio israélienne, et étalées sur une période d'environ trente ans, l'auteur montre que malgré les efforts visant à préserver la nature « monologique » de l'information radiophonique, et à maintenir un style inspiré de la BBC de Lord Reith, la tendance au dialogue a progressivement gagné la radio, particulièrement dans la manière de présenter l'actualité. Tandis que le monologue l'emporte encore dans les bulletins d'information, les magazines d'information sont désormais dominés par la pratique de l'interview. Pratique de plus en plus égalitaire, marquée par le déclin des figures d'autorité, et par la redéfinition du rôle des journalistes
