Students’ conceptions about creativity: A case study in 3rd cycle of basic education
A criatividade é um termo multifacetado e de complexa definição, em virtude das diferentes definições que vão surgindo com o decorrer dos anos. No entanto, apesar disso, a sua importância, atualmente, é essencial, sobretudo num contexto educativo de qualidade. Para isso deu-se oportunidade aos alunos do 3º ciclo do ensino básico, com o objetivo de se identificarem prováveis conceções alusivas ao significado de criatividade, desenvolveu-se um estudo de investigação nos anos letivos de 2013/2014 e 2014/2015. A metodologia utilizada foi um design de estudo de caso. O estudo de caso constituído foi um estudo de caso, múltiplo, formado por três casos, Caso I, Caso II e Caso III, referentes, respetivamente, aos três anos de escolaridade (7º, 8º e 9º), envolvendo cinco turmas oriundas de dois agrupamentos de escolas públicas do norte de Portugal. O instrumento foi um questionário. No tratamento dos dados optou-se pela análise de conteúdo das respostas dadas pelos alunos participantes ao inquérito por questionário e à formulação de categorias de análise. Os resultados permitiram concluir que as conceções de criatividade dos participantes são diferentes. No Caso I, a conceção de criatividade destes alunos está associada à Imaginação, enquanto nos outros dois casos (Caso II e III), a criatividade foi caraterizada como sendo Criar algo de novo e diferenteCreativity is a multifaceted term and in complex definition, due to the different definitions that have appeared over the years. However, in spite of this, its importance today is essential, especially in a quality educational context. To this end, the students of the 3rd cycle of basic education were given the opportunity to identify probable concepts referring to the meaning of creativity. An investigation study was developed during the school years 2013/2014 and 2014/2015. The methodology used was a case study design. The case study consisted of a case study, multiple, consisting of three cases, Case I, Case II and Case III, referring respectively to the three years of schooling (7th, 8th and 9th), involving five classes from two groups of public schools in the north of Portugal. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. In the data treatment, was opted for the analysis of the content of the answers given by the students participating in this questionnaire survey and the formulation of analysis categories. The results allowed to conclude that the conceptions of creativity of the participants are different. Synthesis of 5H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole by a modification of Pomeranz-Fritsch isoquinoline synthesis.
5H-Pyrido[4,3-b]indole was obtained from 3-formylindole in 16% overall
yield by Jackson and Shannon modification of the Pomeranz-Fristch isoquinoline
synthesis. The final cyclisation occurred but the removal of the tosyl group and
oxidation of the dihydrocompound was not efficient. Changes in the concentration of
the acid catalyst gave 29% as the best yield for the last step. An NMR study of the

Synthesis of novel psoralen analogues and their in vitro antitumor activity
New tetracyclic benzofurocoumarin (benzopsoralen) analogues were synthesized and their inhibitory effect on the growth of tumor cell lines was evaluated. The human tumor cell lines used were MDA MB231 (breast adenocarcinoma), HeLa (cervix adenocarcinoma) and TCC-SUP (bladder transitional cell carcinoma). The in vitro antitumor activity of the new benzopsoralens was discussed in terms of structure–activity relationship. Molecular docking studies with human-CYP2A6 enzymes were also carried out with the synthesized compounds in order to evaluate the potential of these compounds to interact with the heme group of the enzymes. The results have demonstrated that the linear compounds have the most pronounced activity against tumor cell lines and this might be related to the better accessibility that these compounds have to the active site in relation to the angular ones that have shown in the majority of the cases multiple binding poses in the active site of CYP2A6.To the Foundation for the Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal) for financial support to the NMR portuguese network (PTNMR, Bruker Avance III 400-Univ. A characterisation of poor school performance at the Centre for Applied Psychology of the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Brazil
Poor school performance has historically constituted one of most frequent reasons for student referrals to applied psychology centers and, due to the complexity involved, has posed a challenge to academic development and practices in the field of educational and school psychology. Faced with the need to improve customer service and the screening process, this study aimed to examine a total of 1,590 school records registering poor performance for the period of 1996-2009 among patients to the Centre for Applied Psychology of the Federal University of Juiz de For a, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Results revealed a prevalence of boys aged between 9 and 13 and a predominance of referrals from schools located in the city's outskirts. Poor school performance was found to often involve behavioural problems and learning difficulties. The data allowed us to make a critical analysis of poor school performance and other contextual factors, as well as the need for an improvement in the screening process.A queixa escolar vem se constituindo, historicamente, como um dos motivos mais frequentes de encaminhamentos de crianças para os serviços-escola de Psicologia, traduzindo, pela sua complexidade, um desafio para a formação e práticas no âmbito da psicologia escolar/educacional. Diante da necessidade de aperfeiçoar o atendimento à clientela e o processo de triagem, o presente estudo objetivou analisar os prontuários referentes à queixa escolar de pacientes atendidos no Centro de Psicologia Aplicada da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brasil, num total de 1.590 documentos, no período de 1996 a 2009. Os resultados quanto à clientela evidenciaram a prevalência de meninos na faixa entre 9 e 13 anos de idade, com predomínio de encaminhamentos oriundos de escolas de periférias da cidade. Quanto à queixa, constatou-se expressiva coocorrência de problemas comportamentais e de aprendizagem. Os dados permitem uma reflexão crítica acerca da queixa escolar e de alguns fatores contextuais, bem como a necessidade de aperfeiçoamento da ficha de triagem

Novel benzopsoralen analogues : synthesis, biological activity and molecular docking studies
New benzopsoralen analogues were synthesized and their inhibitory effect on the growth of tumourtumour cell lines (MDA MB231 and TCC-SUP) was evaluated. The in vitro antitumour activity of the new benzopsoralen analogues was discussed in terms of structure–activity relationship. Molecular docking studies with human-CYP2A6 enzymes were also carried out with the synthesized compounds to evaluate the potential of these molecules to interact with the haem group of the enzymes. Synthesis of esters derived from 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-1-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]-β-D-glucopyranose
2,3,4,6-Tetra-o-acetyl-1-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]-β-D-glucopyranose was prepared and reacted with several acids, either commercially available or prepared. These included, aliphatic or aromatic acids (phenylacetic acid derivatives, benzoic derivatives), palmitic acid and the protected amino acids N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)glycine and N-(tert-butyloxycarbonyl)-phenylalanine. Two other acids, 2-(3-bromopropoxy)benzoic acid and 2-(5-bromopentoxy)benzoic acid (analogues of salicylic acid were synthesized), whose preparation is also described in this work. The esterification was performed either with N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC)/4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) or by reacting the acyl chlorides with the alcohol in the presence of triethylamine. The products were isolated in fair yields and fully characterized by the usual analytical techniques
