<br /

Main Cross-Cutting Training Contents of LEISURE and Free Time Schools: Acceptance of Groups Involved in the Leisure Time Instructor Courses
Time atomisation trends, leisure economy, and social and technological changes are causing
a reframe of the leisure and free-time industry. This study aims to analyse the assessment of nine
cross-cutting contents by the main agents involved in leisure-time instructor courses, and a group of
young subjects in Spain. The study sample consisted of 1049 individuals, including management
and technical teams, leisure and free-time schoolteachers, leisure and free-time school students
(receiving the leisure-time instructor course), and finally a group of external young subjects. An ad
hoc questionnaire was used, and the results were analysed through a correlational study using
contingency tables and chi-square and Somers’ D statistics, Spearman’s correlation to determine
within-population correlations, and the Kruskal–Wallis test to establish that these relationships were
not randomly established. The results show that all the analysed agents valued the training proposal
of cross-cutting contents as a consolidated item. This indicates that the nine cross-cutting contents
should be maintained in these courses. Social Skills content was crowned as the defining content of
this training, and there was dissonance in the ICT-Use content, which was not highly valued by main
agents but was highly valued by young people, leading to the need to review this content to adjust it
to the real needs of the young populatio
Stability and Thermal Properties Study of Metal Chalcogenide-Based Nanofluids for Concentrating Solar Power
Nanofluids are colloidal suspensions of nanomaterials in a fluid which exhibit enhanced thermophysical properties compared to conventional fluids. The addition of nanomaterials to a fluid can increase the thermal conductivity, isobaric-specific heat, diffusivity, and the convective heat transfer coefficient of the original fluid. For this reason, nanofluids have been studied over the last decades in many fields such as biomedicine, industrial cooling, nuclear reactors, and also in solar thermal applications. In this paper, we report the preparation and characterization of nanofluids based on one-dimensional MoS2 and WS2 nanosheets to improve the thermal properties of the heat transfer fluid currently used in concentrating solar plants (CSP). A comparative study of both types of nanofluids was performed for explaining the influence of nanostructure morphologies on nanofluid stability and thermal properties. The nanofluids prepared in this work present a high stability over time and thermal conductivity enhancements of up to 46% for MoS2-based nanofluid and up to 35% for WS2-based nanofluid. These results led to an increase in the efficiency of the solar collectors of 21.3% and 16.8% when the nanofluids based on MoS2 nanowires or WS2 nanosheets were used instead of the typical thermal oil
Analysis and Screening of Commercialized Protein Supplements for Sports Practice
Recent years have seen a rise in the popularity of the consumption of sports-related
supplements. However, the hypothesis is raised that it is necessary to analyze the quality aspects
of these supplements in relation to the information provided on the label, to avoid associated risks
and obtain the greatest possible benefit from their consumption. Therefore, the aim of this study has
been to carry out an analysis or screening of the protein supplements that are currently marketed in
Spain. We analyzed the labels of 52 protein sports supplements available both in physical stores and
online. The analysis consisted of addressing three relevant aspects considering the labeling: (a) the
legislative framework in which the supplements are marketed, (b) the quality of the protein, and
(c) the presence of other ingredients according to the specifications of the label. In the legislative
context, there do not seem to be any specific regulations to guarantee consumer protection, which
can lead to unfair practices and misleading advertising. Most of the supplements analyzed to comply
with the requirements of their current regulations. However, claims about their benefits that are
not allowed under European legislation have been found in some of them. Regarding composition
and according to label information, the supplements have been found to provide a sufficient dose
of protein in terms of recommended protein intake per serving. Regarding the presence of other
ingredients and according to the information on the label, most of them, except for egg supplements,
contain other ingredients. Colostrum was also found in one of the supplements evaluated. The
conclusions of the study reveal that, due to a lack of knowledge or misleading advertising practices,
supplements are often not used properly. The information provided is essential for both professionals
and consumers to avoid the risks associated with consumption, such as unintentional doping,
interactions between ingredients that reduce the quality of the supplement, and consumption of
supplements inappropriately, among others
An in vitro evaluation of two dentine adhesive systems to seal the pulp chamber using a glucose penetration model
Objectives: To evaluate the sealing capability of Cavit TM G with or without Clearfil TM S3 Bond and Prime & Bond NT placed in the pulp chamber. Study Design: Forty single rooted premolars, extracted for orthodontic and periodontal reasons, with intact coronal surface and mature apices, were standardized to a length of 15 mm. The teeth were instrumented, filled with a gutta-percha master cone and divided into three groups to obturate the pulp chambers: Cavit TM G; Clearfil TM S3 Bond plus Cavit TM G and Prime & Bond® NT plus Cavit TM G. A glucose leakage model was used for evaluating the coronal microleakage. The Mann-Whitney test was used to evaluate the differences in the means of the glucose leakage. Results: An increase in glucose penetration was observed during the first week in groups Cavit TM G and Cavit TM G+PBNT. The glucose penetration values of all groups were similar at 30 and 45 days, and there were no significant differences among them in both time periods (p=0.736 and p=0.581, respectively). Conclusions: The adhesive systems did not improve the capability of Cavit TM G to seal the pulp chamber over time © Medicina Oral S. L
Intraorifice sealing ability of different materials in endodontically treated teeth
Objectives: To evaluate Cavit? G, ProRoot? MTA and Tetric® EvoFlow as intraorifice barriers to prevent coronal microleakage in root canal treatment. Study Design: Forty-two human single rooted teeth were divided randomly in three experimental groups of 10 specimens each and two control groups. The experimental groups were prepared with hand instrumentation and cold lateral condensed technique of the gutta-percha. Four millimetres of coronal gutta-percha were removed and replaced by one of the following filling materials: Cavit? G, Tetric® EvoFlow or ProRoot? MTA. In the experimental groups, leakage was measured by the concentration of leaked glucose in the apical reservoir at 1, 7, 30, and 45 days, using the enzymatic glucose oxidase method. Data were analyzed by means of Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests at ?=0.05. Results: The glucose penetration results of three experimental groups increased gradually over time. No significant differences were found among groups at 24 hours and 1 week. At thirty and forty-five days, Cavit? and Tetric® EvoFlow values were significantly different (p=0.007 and p=0.023, respectively). Conclusions: The sealing ability of the Cavit? G, ProRoot? MTA and Tetric® EvoFlow used as intraorifice materials tends to be similar over time
Structure–Biological Activity Relationships of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Phenolic Compounds: Health Properties and Bioavailability
Extra-virgin olive oil is regarded as functional food since epidemiological studies and multidisciplinary research have reported convincing evidence that its intake affects beneficially one or more target functions in the body, improves health, and reduces the risk of disease. Its health properties have been related to the major and minor fractions of extra-virgin olive oil. Among olive oil chemical composition, the phenolic fraction has received considerable attention due to its bioactivity in different chronic diseases. The bioactivity of the phenolic compounds could be related to different properties such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, although the molecular mechanism of these compounds in relation to many diseases could have different cellular targets. The aim of this review is focused on the extra-virgin olive oil phenolic fraction with particular emphasis on (a) biosynthesis, chemical structure, and influence factors on the final extra-virgin olive oil phenolic composition; (b) structure–antioxidant activity relationships and other molecular mechanisms in relation to many diseases; (c) bioavailability and controlled delivery strategies; (d) alternative sources of olive biophenols. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive review was developed, with particular emphasis on in vitro and in vivo assays as well as clinical trials. This report provides an overview of extra-virgin olive oil phenolic compounds as a tool for functional food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical applications.Junta de Andalucía

Brief history of Coeliac disease
In this work on celiac disease, the authors focus mainly on the most relevant historical aspects that have been patterning knowledge on celiac disease. Once more details of the disease through their symptoms have been known, a more rigorous profile of this pathology was made. Thus, the Celiac Diseases first was considered a chronic indigestion without relation to the type of food ingested, then it was found that it was based on an intolerance to gliadin and other similar proteins, later that it is an autoimmune disease. The important contributions of Areteo, Soriano, Gee, Herter, Dicke, Anderson, Marsh are reviewed and their contributions and research have helped indisputably the knowledge of the central aspects of the Celiac Disease. This paper does not want to obviate the work of Spanish physicians and researcher as Santiago Cavengt, Ángel Ballabriga, Manuel Suárez Perdiguero, Isabel Polanco nor the work of the international and national Celiacs societies and the Spanish “Ministry of Salud y Consumo”
