AplicaciĂłn web para compartir coche, mediante las tecnologĂas JAVA, SPRING y JPA
Treballs Finals de Grau d'Enginyeria InformĂ tica, Facultat de MatemĂ tiques, Universitat de Barcelona, Any: 2013, Director: LluĂs Garrido OstermannThe motivation for this project was mainly to prove to myself that I have developed sufficient skills to face a challenge like this and bring it to fruition.
It aimed to create a web application that would be able to manage users, develop an environment where such users could communicate with each other and share their experiences in the different trips, as well as integrate with Google Maps.
To solve this project I had to learn many new to me technologies such as the web development framework SPRING MVC and JPA to handle communications of my application with the database server, JSTL to create such views Java Server Pages (JSP). CSS also to give a custom style to the application, JQUERY to handle Javascript events and animations that the application needs. Also make AJAX requests in the web controller collect and return them in JSON format to the website and reload specific parts of the website. and finally creating TLD files to help create the view JSP.
As can be seen are enough I needed technologies for this project
An empirical examination of exchange-rate credibility determinants in the EMS
This paper provides empirical evidence on the determinants of exchange rate credibility under the European Monetary System (EMS). To that end, we have considered both economic variables and political factors using data of eight currencies participating in the Exchange Rate Mechanism, covering the complete EMS history (1979-1998). Our results suggest that the level of international reserves, the real interest rate and right-wing governments would have positively affected the credibility of a given central parity, while the unemployment rate and the inflation rate would have negative influenced such credibility.Credibility, Political variables, Exchange rates, European Monetary System
Revisiting Rose's common currency debate
The main objective of this research is to revisit the estimation of the effect of a common currency on international trade by applying the new methodology proposed by Helpman, Melitz and Rubistein (2008) and incorporating tourism to the theoretical framework. Rose (2000) estimates an empirical model of bilateral trade, finding a significant coefficient for a currency union variable of 1.2, suggesting an effect of currency unions on trade of over a 200%. Rose (2000)âs finding did not receive full acceptance and further research was consequently devoted to find reasons of such high effect. This still remains as a major puzzle in the International Economics. Rose and Van Wincoop (2001) hold that there may still be some omitted factors that drives countries to both participate in currency unions and trade more. In this research a gravity equation for trade is estimated controlling by international tourism.Common currency, tourism, gravity equation
On the impact of exchange rate regimes on tourism
The main objective of this paper is to analyze the effect of the exchange rate arrangements on international tourism. The ambiguity of literature about the effect of exchange rate volatility contrasts with the magnitude of the impact of a common currency on trade. On the basis of a gravity equation we estimate a moderate effect of a currency union on tourism of almost 12%. Furthermore, we estimate a gravity equation for international trade, obtaining that the common currency effect on trade is reduced when tourism is introduced as a regressor. This suggests that tourism flows may contribute to explain the excessive magnitude of the estimated effect of a common currency on trade in this literature. Finally, we analyze the impact of several de facto exchange rate arrangements on tourism, finding that less flexible exchange rates promotes tourism flows.Tourism, Exchange Rate Regime, Common Currency
On the Credibility of a Target Zone: Evidence from the EMS
We provide some new evidence on the credibility of the Exchange Rate Mechanism of the European Monetary System. To that end, we use of several credibility indicators, analysing the complete EMS history. We also compare the prediction qualities of the different indicators, and apply them to the experience of the new ERM linking the currencies of non-euro area Member States to the euro.Exchange rates, European Monetary System.
Inertial Stabilization Controller for a 2 DOF Platform
6TH IFAC SYMPOSIUM ON COST ORIENTED AUTOMATION - LCA 2001 () (.2001.BERLIN, ALEMANIA)This paper presents the controller design for the stabilization of a platform of two degrees of freedom. The purpose of this application it is to control the velocities, which are measured in a inertial frame, rejecting the disturbances associated with moving components. A gain-scheduling controller based strategy is proposed, by way of which the desired specifications are accomplished.Ministerio de Ciencia y TecnologĂa TAP-98-0541UniĂłn Europea 1FD97-078
Behavioral modeling of PWL analog circuits using symbolic analysis
Behavioral models are used both for top-down design and for bottom-up verification. During top-down design, models are created that reflect the nominal behavior of the different analog functions, as well as the constraints imposed by the parasitics. In this scenario, the availability of symbolic modeling expressions enable designers to get insight on the circuits, and reduces the computational cost of design space exploration. During bottom-up verification, models are created that capture the topological and constitutive equations of the underlying devices into behavioral descriptions. In this scenario symbolic analysis is useful because it enables to automatically obtain these descriptions in the form of equations. This paper includes an example to illustrate the use of symbolic analysis for top-down design.ComisiĂłn Interministerial de Ciencia y TecnologĂa TIC97-058
Fiscal data revisions in Europe
Public deficit figures are subject to revisions, as most macroeconomic aggregates are. Nevertheless, in the case of Europe, the latter could be particularly worrisome given the role of fiscal data in the functioning of EUâs multilateral surveillance rules. Adherence to such rules is judged upon initial releases of data, in the framework of the so-called Excessive Deficit Procedure (EDP) Notifications. In addition, the lack of reliability of fiscal data may hinder the credibility of fiscal consolidation plans. In this paper we document the empirical properties of revisions to annual government deficit figures in Europe by exploiting the information contained in a pool of real-time vintages of data pertaining to fifteen EU countries over the period 1995-2008. We build up such real-time dataset from official publications. Our main findings are as follows: (i) preliminary deficit data releases are biased and non-efficient predictors of subsequent releases, with later vintages of data tending to show larger deficits on average; (ii) such systematic bias in deficit revisions is a general feature of the sample, and cannot solely be attributed to the behaviour of a small number of countries, even though the Greek case is clearly an outlier; (iii) Methodological improvements and clarifications stemming from Eurostatâs decisions that may lead to data revisions explain a significant share of the bias, providing some evidence of window dressing on the side of individual countries; (iv) expected real GDP growth, political cycles and the strength of fiscal rules also contribute to explain revision patterns; (v) nevertheless, if the systematic bias is excluded, revisions can be considered rational after two years. O professor tem uma histĂłria!?
This descriptive study explores the insights of a group of language practitioners from a public university in Bogota, Colombia about a proposal focused on their experience reading aloud while applying storytelling techniques. In this exploratory study, the data collection instruments included video-recordings of the practitionersâ classes, reflective logs, field notes, and surveys. The results of this study suggest that exposing pre-service teachers to methodologies that include training in non-traditional teaching practices, such as reading aloud, combined with storytelling techniques, can have positive effects on their perspective towards their professional and personal growth as efl teachers. In addition, those effects might be influenced by factors such as how effective storytelling should be fostered, and storytelling and its pedagogical implications, and factors that inhibit storytelling.
