Marketing strategy for a charitable trust
This research topic is to examine a charitable trust. The motive of this research is to not only evaluate the current or conventional ways of doing marketing for a charitable trust but to find out the best possible marketing strategy to boost the audience in charitable events. This research utilised interviews, which gained valuable results and some eye opening facts. It was found that most of the trusts do not attempt social media marketing. On the contrary, most of them prefer to use print media including some expensive media resources which results in demotivating people from attending the charitable events. The best recommendation is to control costs by opting to use social media marketing instead of print media and television media. Not only that, they should give equal preference to the stakeholder as their opinion can build a good social image of the trust with positive word of mouth. To conclude, the organisation also needs people to join the trust and to promote the events. They should use established marketing ways to get more people to attend and to get more and more people to join hands for a good cause

Risk identification of events
The three-factors of risk identification, risk control, and health and safety play a significant role in every event in three different areas (pre, during and post event). This research examines the importance of three factors at an organisation. This research focuses on the methods used by the organisation to analyse and control risk by observing health and safety aspects in India. The techniques applied for this research are the primary research method and qualitative method. The study was conducted through an interview. One employee from the organisation was interviewed. The results show that the organisation uses different types of models such as the Goldblatt Event Management Process, Heron's model (Feedback using DESC model), Dewey's model (problem-solving method process) and Kotter's 8 step change model, to analyse the risk. In addition to this, the organisation also uses an applied implementation approach method to identify and control the risk. The research recommends the organisation to run a trial event before executing the function to determine the risk, and that they allocate a dedicated team to cover the health and safety aspect. The research concludes that an organisation manages the responsibility by using 3P's (Policy, Process and Procedure) method
An analysis of the importance of volunteers during events
Volunteers play an important role in events worldwide. This research examines the importance of volunteersā motivation and satisfaction during events by using Sing China as a case study. This research focuses on events, volunteers, volunteer recruitment, volunteer rewards and volunteer retention. The research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods. 50 random strangers off the street were surveyed., Published journals were used as academic support for the theories. The results show that people are interested in cultural events and they come to volunteer for the reason of improving personal values and build self-esteem. For the part of volunteer motivation, most of the participants show themselves willing to receive small gifts after volunteering. Providing a chance for volunteers to choose jobs which suit them, and providing volunteer training are the main things that participants think should improve during the events
Rating system in Food delivery
A small business in food delivery has much competition. The organisation delivers food in food trucks at local markets. The aim of this research is to examine how a rating system will impact on the quality of goods and services and customer satisfaction levels. This research will accomplish the aim in three steps: examine the current state of food trucks, investigate the potential of a rating system, and identify further avenues to use rating systems efficiently. A survey of customers will be used to gather quantitative data and an interview to gather qualitative data
On the Relationship Between Time Management and Time Estimation
The study explores the relationship between people's self-report of the use of time management practices and estimates of task duration. The hypothesis is that those who are good time managers will be good at estimating how long a future task will take (expected), how long a previously executed task has taken (retrospective) and how long a task is taking while in process (prospective). In the expected setting results indicate that those who perceive themselves as good time managers are most accurate at estimating the duration of a future task, of those who do not perceive themselves as good time managers some grossly overestimate and many underestimate to quite a considerable extent. The latter finding thus provides support for the 'planning fallacy' (Kahneman & Tversky,1979). In the prospective setting results indicate those who perceive themselves as good time managers tend to underestimate time passing. It is suggested that this is a motivational strategy designed to enhance a sense of control over time. Findings are discussed in relation to existing theories of time estimation
Using cases for school principal performance standards: Australian and New Zealand experiences.
This article reports an international validation of a framework for performance standards for school principals. The framework, generated in Australia in 1996-1997, was applied in New Zealand in 2000. The framework involved an innovative method of establishing standards for principals' performance, based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of making judgements about the quality of principals' work. Using cases of critical incidents in which principals made decisions in their everyday work, the essential elements of quality performance, together with a set of dimensions on which performance varied, were identified. This study explored the application of these essential elements and dimensions in a context in which similar school system restructuring is in progress. Three questions were addressed: How valid are the Australian cases in the New Zealand setting? How applicable to the New Zealand setting are the three continuaāditties, interpersonal skills, moral dispositionsāthat comprise the framework? And finally, How applicable to the New Zealand setting are the particular duties, interpersonal skills and moral dispositions? This study supports three conclusions. First, cases generated in one context are not applicable in a different cultural setting. However, the method of developing cases is readily applied cross culturally. Second, the values underpinning the framework developed in Australia are similar to, but not the same as, those about which principals in New Zealand assess principal performance. Third, there are similarities, but also important subtle differences, in the particular dimensions on which the framework is grounded. The study indicates the validity of using cases to generate performance standards for school principals
Time-Related Individual Differences.
Post-modernism has brought about changing demands with respect to time in work organisations. Whilst the impact of this has been given some attention at both the organisational and individual level far less has been given to a consideration of the extent to which individual differences might moderate the impact of such changes. In order to proceed with this line of enquiry it is necessary first to be able to measure individual differences related to time. This paper, through an analysis and synthesis of existing measures of individual attitudes/approaches to time, a subsequent qualitative study, and large quantitative survey study (N=683) identifies a five factor structure for time-related individual differences (Time Personality) and reports on the development of five complementary measurement scales : Leisure Time Awareness, Punctuality, Planning, Polychronicity and Impatience. A series of reliability and validity studies indicate that the scales are psychometrically sound. The findings are discussed in the context of the role Time Personality might play in moderating the effects that differing organisational structures and changing work demands might have in organisational settings
Flickr - photos and videos 1 TB space. How to use it effectively
Can we use Flickr as a versatile tool in different situations to improve student learning in a flexi delivery environment? We all underestimate the power of photos and videos in social media use in education. One picture or video can result in 1000 words and 1000 different perspectives. You can use Flickr software (photos and videos) to enhance event management learning.
Flickr is not restricted by geographical location. Flickr as a versatile tool in different situations to improve student learning will be of interest.
Flickr Software was recently reinvented by Yahoo. Is it going to overtake the popularity of You Tube? Flickr and You Tube neatly support familiar social media software, Facebook available today. Flickr provides the perfect opportunity for students to gather information, critically reflect on the information and then share their reflections with others. This sharing of ābest practiceā marketing methods for event management seldom occurs in the industry. Flickr photos and videos do not age they are timeless. Using this methodology for critical evaluation could be the way for the future.
Flickr is eco-friendly; a paperless environment available to all students and teachers has been put in place. Flickr offers a lot of opportunities for anyone. Flickr account holders can choose different levels of security for photo(s) and collections. Learn how to use Flickr effectively and make it user friendly. You can use it on a PC, MAC, I pad, IPod, IPhone, Smart Phone, in fact anywhere where there is Wi-Fi or an internet connection.
I now prefer it over You Tube for my video access. Come join me whether you are a beginner, intermediate or expert on Flickr, everyone comes away with new skills by using Flickr
