A bijection between the set of nesting-similarity classes and L & P matchings
Matchings are frequently used to model RNA secondary structures; however, not
all matchings can be realized as RNA motifs. One class of matchings, called the
L P matchings, is the most restrictive model for RNA secondary structures
in the Largest Hairpin Family (LHF). The L P matchings were enumerated in
by Jefferson, and they are equinumerous with the set of
nesting-similarity classes of matchings, enumerated by Klazar. We provide a
bijection between these two sets. This bijection preserves noncrossing
matchings, and preserves the sequence obtained reading left to right of whether
an edge begins or ends at that vertex.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figure
Overused and Neglected: Conceptual Designs for Spaces on Campus
As humans, we routinely spend time in the spaces we perceive to be comfortable and serve a purpose centralized to the individual. Most do not recognize the science behind what goes into making a space serve its purpose and that is done best by interior designers. Over time, it is common for the needs of a space to change in accordance with the changing times and current trends. The University of Rhode Island has recently made grand investments in the programs that attract the most students, leaving many other spaces overused and neglected. There has been continuous neglect to certain spaces on campus that are frequently used by students. Not only do these selected spaces call for some slight renovations, but also call for changes that will allow for optimal functionality and increase appeal to students. The selected spaces for this project include: the Airport Lounge in the Memorial Union, the Fine Arts Cafe Study Area in the Fine Arts building, and the Honors Lounge in Lippitt Hall.
This project embodies the self-exploration into the interior design world that is not present at the University, but applies the skills learned to improve the Universityās appearance. With the application of self-taught skill of computer aided design softwares, I learned drafting skills using AutoCAD and how to create 3-D realistic renderings using Revit

Miniature loop heat pipe with flat evaporator for cooling computer CPU
This paper presents an experimental investigation on a copper miniature loop heat pipe (mLHP) with a flat disk shaped evaporator, 30mm in diameter and 10-mm thick, designed for thermal control of computer microprocessors. Tests were conducted with water as the heat transfer fluid. The device was capable of transferring a heat load of 70W through a distance up to 150mm using 2-mm diameter transport lines. For a range of power applied to the evaporator, the system demonstrated very reliable startup and was able to achieve steady state without any symptoms of wick dry-out. Unlike cylindrical evaporators, flat evaporators are easy to attach to the heat source without need of any cylinder-to-plane reducer material at the interface and thus offer very low thermal resistance to the heat acquisition process. In the horizontal configuration, under air cooling, the minimum value for the mLHP thermal resistance is 0.17degC/W with the corresponding evaporator thermal resistance of 0.06degC/W. It is concluded from the outcomes of the current study that a mLHP with flat evaporator geometry can be effectively used for the thermal control of electronic equipment including notebooks with limited space and high heat flux chipsets. The results also confirm the superior heat transfer characteristics of the copper-water configuration in mLHP
The Digital Death Conundrum: How Federal and State Laws Prevent Fiduciaries from Managing Digital Property
This article discusses four types of fiduciaries, each of which is affected by the vast growth in and the need to manage digital property. The article begins by defining digital property and discussing why it must be managed. The article then discusses how digital property affects powers of attorney, conservatorships, probate administration, and trusts. After illustrating the problems that digital property creates for each fiduciary, the article shifts to resolving these problems. It begins by debunking purported solutions by both private and governmental entities. It concludes by offering a holistic approach to resolving the conflicts facing account holders, fiduciaries, and service providers and providing the level of security sought in fiduciary property management, as well as a best-practices approach in the interim to a complete solution
Nuances of the psychogastroenterology patient: A predictive model for gastrointestinal quality of life improvement
BackgroundGastrointestinal conditions are multifactorial in nature, and certain patients can benefit greatly from braināgut psychotherapies delivered by mental health professionals who specialize in psychogastroenterology. This study aimed to identify features associated with improvements in GIāspecific quality of life scores following behavioral health interventions (BHI). The second aim was to create a psychogastroenterology referral care pathway incorporating identified characteristics for greatest benefit from GIāspecific behavioral therapy.MethodsWe performed a prospective observational study of 101 (63 women; median age, 45Ā years) gastroenterology patients referred for psychogastroenterology consultation at a single center. Patients attended an average of seven sessions with a single GI psychologist where evidenceābased braināgut psychotherapies were employed. GIāspecific quality of life (IBSāQOL) and psychological distress (BSIā18) were assessed before and after BHI. Patients completed selfāreported questionnaires. We performed a multivariable analysis to determine predictors associated with IBSāQOL score improvement.Key ResultsA total of 53 (52.5%) patients experienced improvement in IBSāQOL score. Patients with improved IBSāQOL scores had significantly higher baseline BSI general domain Tāscores (61.9 vs. 56.9, PĀ =Ā 0.002). Female gender (odds ratio [OR], 3.2), pretreatment BSI somatization Tāscore ā„63 (OR, 3.7), and a diagnosis of depression (OR, 4.2) were associated with greater odds of IBSāQOL score improvement following BHI.Conclusions and InferencesWe identified factors associated with response to GIāspecific BHI to aid in optimizing the utilization of psychogastroenterology services and provide referring providers with information to inform treatment recommendations. Female patients with disorders of gutābrain interaction (DGBIs), high somatization, and depression should be considered a priority for braināgut psychotherapies.Gastrointestinal conditions are multifactorial in nature, and certain patients can benefit greatly from braināgut psychotherapies delivered by mental health professionals who specialize in psychogastroenterology. Females with disorders of gutābrain interaction, high somatization, and depression should be considered priority for braināgut psychotherapies. Behavioral health outcomes were not limited to disease; patients with IBD should be routinely considered for referral. Optimizing utilization of GIāspecific behavioral health specialists for the best outcomes can maximize quality of life and disease experience, but also improve valueābased care.Peer Reviewedhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/151345/1/nmo13663.pdfhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/151345/2/nmo13663_am.pd
