This is an experimental study on the antibacterial activity of the peptides found in the gills of tilapia against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Extraction of peptides was done by modified acetic acid-acetone method. The prepitates formed by adding acetone are reconstituted in 40% acetonitrile. Biuret test and thin-layer chromatography were used for the confirmation of peptides in the sample. The concentration of the peptides was analyzed using UV spectrophotometer. The antimicrobial assay was done using well diffusion method. The study concluded that antimicrobial assay has shown that the peptides did not inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Klebseilla pneumoniae based on the concentration that the researchers used
