The Connecting Method for the Spiral Blades of Concrete Mixer Truck

    Get PDF
For the spiral blade of the concrete mixing tank of concrete mixer truck, in order to satisfy the stirring and discharging performance, the installation angle and helix angle of the blade should be assigned according to their segmentation function. Due to the different helix angles and the installation tilt angles, a junction gap of blade is formed at the joint, resulting in the severe silting of discharge or the uneven agitation. We put forward a more reasonable solution by using the MFG (method of fitting gradient) to solve the gap connection of spiral blades. The MFG that can reduce the discharging residual rate of the mixing material has been verified by experiments and applied to actual mass production. We also make the coupling simulation of Multi-Physics Field based on simulation software 17-STARCCM+® to visually verify the scientificity of design and study the complex stresses distribution inside the actual mixing tank. Finally, we provide an up-to-date reference for the design of spiral logarithmic blade, solving the problem of the gap at the traditional spiral-blade connection

Aligning 3D Curve with Surface Using Tangent and Normal Vectors for Computer-Assisted Orthopedic Surgery

Registration that aligns different views of one interested organ together is an essential technique and outstanding problem in medical robotics and image-guided surgery (IGS). This work introduces a novel rigid point set registration (PSR) approach that aims to accurately map the pre-operative space with the intra-operative space to enable successful image guidance for computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery (CAOS). The normal vectors and tangent vectors are first extracted from the pre-operative and intra-operative point sets (PSs) respectively, and are further utilized to enhance the registration accuracy and robustness. The contributions of this article are three-folds. First, we propose and formulate a novel distribution that describes the error between one normal vector and the corresponding tangent vector based on the von-Mises Fisher (vMF) distribution. Second, by modelling the anisotropic position localization error with the multi-variate Gaussian distribution, we formulate the PSR considering anisotropic localization error as a maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) problem and then solve it under the expectation maximization (EM) framework. Third, to facilitate the optimization process, the gradients of the objective function with respect to the desired parameters are computed and presented. Extensive experimental results on the human femur and pelvis models verify that the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods, and demonstrate potential clinical values for relevant surgical navigation applications

    Full one-loop electroweak corrections to e+eZHγe^+e^- \to ZH\gamma at a Higgs factory

Motivated by the future precision test of the Higgs boson at an e+ee^+e^- Higgs factory, we calculate the production e+eZHγe^+e^- \to ZH\gamma in the Standard Model with complete next-to-leading order electroweak corrections. We find that for s=240\sqrt{s}=240 (350) GeV the cross section of this production is sizably reduced by the electroweak corrections, which is 1.031.03 (5.32) fb at leading order and 0.72 (4.79) fb at next-to-leading order. The transverse momentum distribution of the photon in the final states is also presented.Comment: discussions added, version accepted by JHE

A comparison of posterior lumbar interbody fusion and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion: a literature review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND: We compared the perioperative results and complications associated with PLIF and TLIF, and collected evidence for choosing the better fusion method. METHODS: A literature survey of the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases identified 7 comparative observational studies that met our inclusion criteria. Checklists by Cowley were used to evaluate the risk of bias of the included studies. A database including patient demographic information, perioperative results, and complications was established. The summary odds ratio and weighed mean difference with 95% confidence interval were calculated with a random-effects model. RESULTS: We found that PLIF had a higher complication rate (P <0.00001), and TLIF reduced the rate of durotomy (P = 0.01). No statistical difference was found between the two groups with regard to clinical satisfaction (P = 0.54), blood loss (P = 0.14), vertebral root injury (P = 0.08), graft malposition (P = 0.06), infection (P = 0.36), or rate of radiographic fusion (P = 0.27). The evidence indicated that PLIF required longer operative time (P = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS: The evidence indicated that TLIF could reduce the complication rate and durotomy. Neither TLIP nor PLIF was found superior in terms of clinical satisfaction or radiographic fusion rate. PLIF might result in longer time in surgery.
