Abstract

Background

Although recent studies have highlighted the role of epicardial cells during cardiac development and regeneration, their cardiomyogenic potential is still controversial due to the question of lineage tracing of epicardial cells. The present study therefore aimed to examine the the expression of Tbx18 and Wt1 in embryonic heart and to identify whether Tbx18 and Wt1 themselves expressed in the cardiomyocyte.

Methods

Mouse embryonic hearts were collected at different stages for immunofluorescence costaining with either Tbx18 and the cardiac transcription factor Nkx2.5 or Wilms tumor 1 (Wt1) and Nkx2.5.

Results

Tbx18 and Wt1, but not Nkx2.5, were expressed in the proepicardium and epicardium. Tbx18 was expressed in cells within the heart from E10.5 to at least E14.5; these Tbx18-expressing cells were Nkx2.5 positive, except for a few cells that were Nkx2.5 negative at E14.5. Wt1 was expressed in cells within the heart from E12.5 to at least E14.5, but these Wt1-expressing cells were Nkx2.5 negative.

Conclusion

The data obtained in this study demonstrate that Tbx18 is expressed in the cardiomyocytes from E10.5 to at least E14.5, and Wt1 is expressed within the heart from E12.5 to at least E14.5, but not in the cardiomyocyte. These findings may provide new insights on the role of the epicardial cells in cardiac regeneration.</p

    Altermagnetic Orbital Chern Insulator in Twisted MoTe2_{2}

    In twisted MoTe2_{2}, latest transport measurement has reported observation of quantum anomalous Hall effect at hole filling ν=−1\nu=-1, which undergoes a topological phase transition to a trivial ferromagnet as layer hybridization gets suppressed by interlayer bias DD. Here we show that this underlies the existence of an orbital Chern insulating state with gate (DD) switchable sign in an altermagnetic spin background at hole filling ν=−2\nu=-2. From momentum-space Hartree Fock calculations, we find this state has a topological phase diagram complementary to that of the ν=−1\nu=-1 one: by sweeping DD from positive to negative, the Chern number of this ν=−2\nu=-2 state can be switched between +1+1, 00, and −1-1, accompanied by a sign change of a sizable orbital magnetization. In range of DD where this altermagnet is the ground state, the orbital magnetization allows magnetic field initialization of the spin altermagnetic order and the Chern number.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    Empirical study on clique-degree distribution of networks

    Full text link
    The community structure and motif-modular-network hierarchy are of great importance for understanding the relationship between structures and functions. In this paper, we investigate the distribution of clique-degree, which is an extension of degree and can be used to measure the density of cliques in networks. The empirical studies indicate the extensive existence of power-law clique-degree distributions in various real networks, and the power-law exponent decreases with the increasing of clique size.Comment: 9 figures, 4 page

    The title compound, C14H12ClNO, was prepared by the reaction of 4-methoxyaniline and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde in ethanol at 367 K. The molecule is almost planar, with a dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of 9.1 (2)° and an r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane through all non-H atoms in the molecule of 0.167 Å

    Single-photon transport and mechanical NOON state generation in microcavity optomechanics

    Full text link
    We investigate the single-photon transport in a single-mode optical fiber coupled to an optomechanical system in the single-photon strong-coupling regime. The single-photon transmission amplitude is analytically obtained with a real-space approach and the effects of thermal noises are studied via master-equation simulations. The results provide an explicit understanding of optomechanical interaction and offer a useful guide for manipulating single photons in optomechanical systems. Based on the theoretical framework, we further propose a scheme to generate the mechanical NOON states with arbitrary phonon numbers by measuring the sideband photons. The probability for generating the NOON state with five phonons is over 0.15.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figure
