Piper rukshgandhum (Piperaceae): a new species from Southern Western Ghats, India
Piper rukshagandhum J.Mathew is described as a new species from the Achankovil forest, Kerala section of the
southern Western Ghats, India. The diagnostic morphological characters, distribution, conservation status and
colour images of the new species are presented. The significance of this newly discovered species in breeding
programs of black pepper is also briefly discussed. A key to Piper from the southern Western Ghats is provided

Taxonomic descriptions, morphological differences to their allied taxa and colour photographs are provided to facilitate easy identification in the field

A new species of Anisochilus, Anisochilus petraeus (Lamiaceae) is described based on samples collected in the Achankovil Forests of southern Western Ghats, India. A botanical illustration, photographs of the new taxon, information about the habitat and its conservation status are also provided, including a key to the species of Anisochilus from the south Western Ghats
