Phase Stability Effects on Hydrogen Embrittlement Resistance in Martensite–Reverted Austenite Steels
Earlier studies have shown that interlath austenite in martensitic steels can enhance hydrogen embrittlement (HE) resistance. However, the improvements were limited due to microcrack nucleation and growth. A novel microstructural design approach is investigated, based on enhancing austenite stability to reduce crack nucleation and growth. Our findings from mechanical tests, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy reveal that this strategy is successful. However, the improvements are limited due to intrinsic microstructural heterogeneity effects

A stabilized power supply for voltages below twenty volts
A stabilized power supply adjustible over the range zero to twenty volts is described. The device has an internal impedance of 0.01 ohms, and can stabilize a current of 500 milliamperes over its complete voltage range. A stabilized D-C power supply variable from 0-25 volts
A modified design of the low-voltage power supply, previously reported in "A stabilized power supply for voltages below twenty volts" (ERA-187), is described. An internal impedance of 0.005 ohms has been obtained, with good long-term stability. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.75 to 23 volts. The maximum current obtainable with good regulation varies from 1.5 amperes at the lowest voltage to 0.2 amperes at the highest.NRC publication: Ye
