This paper investigates the effect of fibre orientation on the flexural strength of fibre reinforced -epoxy laminated composite material, with the variation in the orientation of the reinforced fibres there will be a substantial variation in the flexural strength of the laminated composites. In the present paper fabrication of glass fibre reinforced laminated composites and graphite fibre reinforced laminated composites with varying orientation of reinforced fibres were prepared using the hand layup, vacuum baggage technique and these specimens are subjected to 3 point static bending testing the investigations are carried out as per the ASTM standards. Using the load -deflection graph the maximum load, maximum deflection and the flexural strength of the specimen for different laminated composites is evaluated and the appropriate conclusions are drawn

Many structures used in Automobile, Aerospace, Naval and other Transportation vehicle structural parts are subjected to various kinds of loads. These structures are further subjected to bending loads causing flexural stress in the structures. The structures subjected to bending loads are prone to catastrophic failure. Therefore the structural integrity of structures is a must to overcome bending. Structures subjected to pure bending load often experiences maximum flexural stress of the specimen either at the outer or the inner fibre leading to failure, the stress will be zero at the neutral axis or the middle axis. The present study aims at investigating the flexural parameters of epoxy glass & graphite fiber reinforced composites when subjected to static flexural loading using Flexural Test system. The flexural parameters are determined by conducting the three point bend test on composite specimen as per ASTMD790 standards. The composite laminate specimens are prepared using the vacuum baggage technique and the specimens are subjected to three point bending test. The load versus deflection graphs were plotted and Flexural properties like flexural strength and stiffness for glass laminated and graphite laminated composites are evaluated and the appropriate conclusions are drawn

In present day the use of fiber reinforced composites is increased remarkably in the various sectors of industries owing to its relative advantages especially in industries like aeronotics, automobile, ship buildingand in chemical industries, where the major emphasis is on weight reduction with a subtantial increase in the mechanical strengt h of the component with enhanced durabli ty by having properties like corrosive resistance, anti reactive to various acidic reactions and to with stand various climatic and temperature conditions. In this context carbon fibre reinforced laminated composites exhibit excellent mechanical properties.Investigation of various properties is difficult in composite materials because of its complex behavior further it is very difficult to evaluate the behavior of fiber laminated composites because of its enhanced complexity, evaluation of properties in composites is difficult with the addition of the fiber (carbon fiber)into the matrix. in this paper an investigation on the flexural properties of the carbon fiber reinforced laminates is carried out and the effect of bredth(b)to thickness(t)and the influence of the of length(l)to breadth(b),Aspect ratiois being evaluated and appropriate conclusions are drawn

On the Linear Combination of Gamma Conditionally Gaussian Distributions with Application to Decode and Forward Cooperation

    Get PDF
In this paper, exact statistics for the linear combination of gamma conditionally Gaussian random variables (CGRVs) are obtained. In particular, the probability density function (PDF), the cumulative distribution function (CDF) and the moment generating function (MGF) are derived. Closed form expressions are obtained for both integer and noninteger parameters, using the Mellin-Barnes integral representation of the extended Fox-(H) over cap function. The significance of these results is then explained by obtaining performance metrics for decode and forward (DF) cooperation in Nakagami-m fading

In present day, several industries such as aeronautical industries, automobile industries, marine industries, chemical industries and transportation industries relay on fibre reinforced composites to manufacture several components such as flaps, doors, gears and other components. These fibre reinforced composite laminates are susceptible to de-lamination damage causing catastrophic failure of the components. The anisotropic nature of laminated composite materials become the source of de-lamination, de-lamination growth is the fundamental issue in the evaluation of laminated composite systems for durability and damage tolerance. Prediction of the Inter laminar shear strength of the fibre reinforced composites is important for engineering applications yet difficult in nature. The main objective of this paper is to find the inter laminar shear strength (trans-plane properties) to study the effect of de lamination in the composite laminates and to evaluate inter laminar shear strength of various fibre reinforced composites and to draw appropriate conclusions

Performance Analysis of Λ-MRC Decode and Forward Cooperation in Nakagami-M Fading For Arbitrary Parameters

In this paper, bit error rate (BER) expressions for the λ-MRC receiver for a decode and forward (DF) cooperative system are obtained for Nakagami-m fading, where m is not an integer. Previous results were available only for integer values of m. BER analysis is done by employing approximate statistics of a gamma conditionally gaussian (CG) random variable (RV) obtained through the Loskot-Prony approximation. Numerical results obtained using the analytical BER expressions are shown to closely follow the simulation results, despite the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the gamma CGRV being a high signal to noise ratio (SNR) appoximatio

Abstract Asparagus racemosus is a well known plant of medicinal value, with proved antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. Antioxidants are reported to enhance wound healing. The present study is aimed to investigate the wound healing profile of Asparagus racemosus on incision and excision wound models in rats. The aqueous extract of the roots of Asparagus racemosus is made use of to study the effect on wound healing in albino rats using incision and excision wound models in 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg orally for 10 to22 days. The skin breaking strength, epithelialisation period, wound contraction rate were estimated. The extract showed significant improvement in the epithelialisation period, remarkable enhancement of wound contraction rate, increased skin breaking strength in the test groups suggesting the possible utility of this plant to enhance wound healing
