Safety Issues of Female Workers of Garment Industry in Gazipur District, Bangladesh

We study the prevalence of safety hazards of female worker of the garment industry in Gazipur district, Bangladesh. This study focused on two sub-districts, Sreepur and Kaliakoir, of Gazipur district. Data for this study were collected from 100 female garment workers of the district. This study observes female workers in the industry consistently suffer from a wide range of safety hazards, such simple cut injury and fire incidences at the workplace. This study also analyses the causes and measures to solve the health issues of female garment workers of Gazipur district

Water and Sanitation Practices and Health: A Study on the Tea Garden Workers in Moulvibazar District, Bangladesh.

Access to safe drinking water and hygienic sanitation facilities are extremely important for a healthy life. Without these, a healthy, sound and harmonic life is impossible. In many countries around the world, especially underdeveloped and developing countries, access to safe drinking water and hygienic sanitation facilities aren’t satisfactory.The present paper tries to find out the water and sanitation practices and their health-related impacts on the tea garden workers. This study focused on the two areas of Moulvibazar District, Alinagar and Madhabpur, two of the most tea gardens brimming areas in Bangladesh.The data were collected from 60 households (30 from each area). The study observes: in both of the areas, people use open defecation or very unhygienic latrines and dependent on the open and unsafe sources of water. This paper analyzes the impact of these conditions on the health of the tea garden workers

The present study tries to find out the prevalence of health hazards among the female workers of the garment industry in Gazipur district, Bangladesh. This study observes female workers in the industry consistently suffer from a range of physical health complexities such as headache, eye problem, hand pain and respiratory difficulties. This study also analyses the causes and measures to solve the health issues of female workers of the garment industry

Air-Abrasion in Dentistry: A Short Review of the Materials and Performance Parameters

The selection of abrasive material and parameters of the Air-Abrasion device for a particular application is a crucial detail. However, there are no standard recommendations or manuals for choosing these details; the operator must depend on his experience and knowledge of the procedure to select the best possible material and set of parameters. This short review attempts to identify some of the effects that the selection of material and parameters could have on the performance of the Air-Abrasion procedure for a particular application. The material and parameter data are collected from various studies and categorized according to the most popular materials in use right now. These studies are then analyzed to arrive at some inferences on the performance of Air-Abrasion materials and parameters. This review arrives at a few conclusions on the effectiveness of a material and parameter set, and that there is potential for developments in the area of standardizing parameter selection; also, there is scope for further studies on Bio-Active Glass as an alternative to the materials currently used in Air-Abrasion
