Dual, Postsynaptic 5-HT2B Antagonist and 5-HT1A Agonist Approach to the Treatment of METH/MDMA Addiction and Related Behavioral Disorders

The synthesis, in vitro, and preliminary in vivo pharmacology of DDD-024, a novel, pentacyclic compound, is described.  It exhibits high affinity to the 5-HT1A and good affinity to the 5-HT2B receptors and is an agonist of the former and antagonist of the latter receptor, a profile which meets with the requirements delineated in our hypothesis proposed in Part 1 (see previous paper).   Further, in vivo, it was quite active in METH-seeking behavior test in rats, MDMA-induced hyperlocomotion test in mice, and Porsolt’s forced swim test  in rats for antidepressant activity thereby providing definite proof of concept for our hypothesis

Phase behaviour of some mixed chloride salt systems

    Get PDF
Phase behaviours of two different series of chloride salt mixtures, viz (a) equimolecular (NaCI + KCI), MgCI,, BaCI, and (b) [NaCI + KCI], MgCI,, CaClz have been studied. The percentages of MgCI2 in the salt mixtures were kept fixed at four different valuesviz 10,20,30 and 40in these studies where other components vary. It has been found that the replacement of CaCI, with BaC12 in the four component salt mixtures does not change the shape and the temperature of the liquidus curve significantly except in the cases when the percentage of BaCI, in the mixture is more than 50

Fusibility and density studies of some fluoride mixtures related to electrorefining of aluminium

Fusibility and density of some salt mixtures formed among NaF, AIF, (the two constituents of cvloite o r e ) and an equimolecular haCI-KC1 mixture have been experimentally determined. It has been found that the primary crystallization point of the mixture comes down rapidly with the addition of equirnolecular NaCI-KC1 to cryolite and goes even below 700" when the proportion of NaC1-KC1 in the mixture is kept 50 mole percent and above. It has also been found that the primary crystallization temperature of the salt mixture does not change significantly when the molar ratio of NaF to AIF, in the four component salt mixture was changed from 3:1 (as in natural cryolite ore) to 3:2 The density of thc system decreases with increasing among of NaCl -KC1 in the mixture

Scalable selective re-execution for edge architectures

Pipeline flushes are becoming increasingly expensive in modern microprocessors with large instruction windows and deep pipelines. Selective re-execution is a technique that can reduce the penalty of mis-speculations by re-executing only instructions a#ected by the mis-speculation, instead of all instructions. In this paper we introduce a new selective re-execution mechanism that exploits the properties of a dataflow-like Explicit Data Graph Execution (EDGE) architecture to support e#cient mis-speculation recovery, while scaling to window sizes of thousands of instructions with high performance. This distributed selective re-execution (DSRE) protocol permits multiple speculative waves of computation to be traversing a dataflow graph simultaneously, with a commit wave propagating behind them to ensure correct execution. We evaluate one application of this protocol to provide e#cient recovery for load-store dependence speculation. Unlike traditional dataflow architectures which resorted to single-assignment memory semantics, the DSRE protocol combines dataflow execution with speculation to enable high performance and conventional sequential memory semantics. Our experiments show that the DSRE protocol results in an average 17% speedup over the best dependence predictor proposed to date, and obtains 82% of the performance possible with a perfect oracle directing the issue of loads
