Praktyki i staże zagraniczne w BPK: konfrontacje, wymiana doświadczeń

The Library of the Cracow University of Technology (CUT) offers various trainings dedicated to foreign users. Not only CUT librarians do lead individual and group information literacy trainings for students, but also enable foreigners to enrol on apprenticeships. Moreover, the librarians inform researchers from abroad about the CUT library structure and functioning. Trainings for individual users and groups are conducted by well-qualified employees of the Information Services Department. The Head of the Information Services Department supervises the implementation of trainings and internship programmes. The Library's educational offer for foreigners is complemented by e-learning coursesBiblioteka Politechniki Krakowskiej (BPK) w ramach oferty edukacyjnej skierowanej do obcokrajowców prowadzi indywidualne i grupowe szkolenia biblioteczne dla studentów oraz zapoznaje zagranicznych pracowników z funkcjonowaniem biblioteki akademickiej. Ponadto umożliwia cudzoziemcom realizację długoterminowych praktyk zawodowych. Szkolenia indywidualne i grupowe prowadzi wyspecjalizowany zespół pracowników Oddziału Informacji Naukowej. Nad realizacją programu szkoleń i staży czuwa kierownik. Ofertę edukacyjną dla obcokrajowców uzupełniają kursy e-learningowe

The aim of the article is to discuss a staff training trip of the Cracow University of Technology Library to the Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim. "Bibliografia Publikacji Pracowników Politechniki Krakowskiej" - próba stworzenia nowoczesnej bazy danych

The Bibliography of the Cracow University of Technology Staff Publications has been created since the Library was established in 1954. The Bibliography was being published in traditional, printed form till 1990 and than it was converted into the electronic version in 1992. Since 2008 the librarians have made an effort to enlarge the Bibliography and create a modern database that enable users to get faster access to different sources. As the results of taken actions, bibliographic descriptions from the electronic Bibliography were connected with other databases, such as the computer catalogue and the Digital Library. Thanks to that a direct access is possible from the Bibliography’s description to the full text in the Digital Library or to the computer catalogue. What is more, the bibliographic descriptions in the Bibliography are recently supplemented to citation indexes from Science Citation Index Expanded and Scopus databases

Cultural heritage: the heritage of human creativity and expression. Unique collections of the Cracow University of Technology Library digitized as part of the EDT project

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie rzadkich i cennych dokumentów zgromadzonych w Bibliotece Politechniki Krakowskiej i zdigitalizowanych w ramach projektu "Europejskie Dziedzictwo Techniczne". Kolekcja, składająca się z książek i czasopism pochodzących z XVIII-XX wieku, bogata jest w proweniencje (ekslibrisy, znaczki, podpisy odręczne, notatki lub dedykacje autora). Materiały te stanowią ciekawy zasób badawczy dla naukowców, studentów i entuzjastów europejskiej historii i dziedzictwa. Z jednej strony kolekcja odzwierciedla historię uniwersytetów i osób z nimi związanych, a z drugiej strony dostarcza wiedzy na temat dziedzictwa historycznego, kulturowego i naukowego Polski i Europy. Przy współpracy z pracownikami Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej (AGH) stworzono platformę internetową, na której umieszczono zbiory nigdy wcześniej nie opublikowane w wersji cyfrowej.The aim of the article is to present rare and precious documents gathered in the Library of the Cracow University of Technology. The collection consists of books and journals dated back to the 18th-20th centuries. Having a lot of provenances marks (bookplates, stamps, handwritten signatures, notes or author's dedications), these materials are of a great importance to researchers, students and enthusiasts of the European history and heritage. On the one hand, the collection reflects the history of the universities and people associated with them. On the other hand, it provides knowledge about the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Poland and Europe. The documents have never been exhibited before. To make these materials accessible to society, the CUT librarians have undertaken the cooperation with scientists from the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH). The aim of this cooperation is to launch an online platform, where digitalized materials can be set. All these tasks are carried out as a part of the project „ European Technical Heritage”
