    Effect of multipath and antenna diversity in MIMO-OFDM systems with imperfect channel estimation and phase noise compensation

    The effect of phase noise in multiple-input–multiple-output systems employing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is analyzed in a realistic scenario where channel estimation is not perfect, and the phase noise effects are only partially compensated. In particular, the degradation in terms of SNR is derived and the effects of the receiver and channel parameters are considered, showing that the penalty is different for different receiver schemes. Moreover it depends on the channel characteristics and on the channel estimation error. An analytical expression is used to evaluate the residual inter-channel interference variance and therefore the degradation. The effects of multipath and antenna diversity are shown to be different for the two types of linear receivers considered, the zero-forcing scheme and the minimum mean squared error receiver.This work has been partly funded by projects “MACAWI” TEC2005-07477-C02-02 and “MULTI-ADAPTIVE” TEC2008-06327-C03-02.Publicad

    Study of the radiative decay Ï•â†’Î·Îł\phi \to \eta \gamma with CMD-2 detector

    Using the 1.9pb−11.9 pb^{-1} of data collected with the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M the decay mode Ï•â†’Î·Îł\phi \to \eta \gamma, η→π+π−π0\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 has been studied. The obtained branching ratio is B(Ï•â†’Î·Îł)=(1.18±0.03±0.06)\phi \to \eta \gamma) = (1.18 \pm 0.03 \pm 0.06) %.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures, LaTex2e, to be published in Phys. Lett.

    Observation of KS0K_S^0 semileptonic decays with CMD-2 detector

    The decay KS0→πeÎœK_S^0 \to \pi e \nu has been observed by the CMD-2 detector at the e^+e^- collider VEPP-2M at Novosibirsk. Of 6 million produced KL0KS0K_L^0K_S^0 pairs, 75±1375 \pm 13 events of the KS0→πeÎœK_S^0 \to \pi e \nu decay were selected. The corresponding branching ratio is B(KS0→πeÎœ)=(7.2±1.4)×10−4B(K_S^0 \to \pi e \nu)=(7.2 \pm 1.4)\times10^{-4}. This result is consistent with the evaluation of B(KS0→πeÎœ)B(K_S^0 \to \pi e \nu) from the KL0K_L^0 semileptonic rate and KS0K_S^0 lifetime assuming ΔS=ΔQ\Delta S=\Delta Q .Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, LaTex2e.     Correlation Entropy of an Interacting Quantum Field and H-theorem for the O(N) Model

    Following the paradigm of Boltzmann-BBGKY we propose a correlation entropy (of the nth order) for an interacting quantum field, obtained by `slaving' (truncation with causal factorization) of the higher (n+1 th) order correlation functions in the Schwinger-Dyson system of equations. This renders an otherwise closed system effectively open where dissipation arises. The concept of correlation entropy is useful for addressing issues related to thermalization. As a small yet important step in that direction we prove an H-theorem for the correlation entropy of a quantum mechanical O(N) model with a Closed Time Path Two Particle Irreducible Effective Action at the level of Next-to-Leading-Order large N approximation. This model may be regarded as a field theory in 00 space dimensions.Comment: 22 page

    Study of KS KL Coupled Decays and KL -Be Interactions with the CMD-2 Detector at VEPP-2M Collider

    The integrated luminosity about 4000 inverse nanobarn of around phi meson mass ( 5 millions of phi mesons) has been collected with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M collider. A latest analysis of the KS KL coupled decays based on 30 % of available data is presented in this paper. The KS KL pairs from phi meson decays were reconstructed in the drift chamber when both kaons decayed into two charged particles. From a sample of 1423 coupled decays a selection of candidates to the CP violating KL into pi+ pi- decay was performed. CP violating decays were not identified because of the domination of events with a KL regenerating at the Be beam pipe into KS and a background from KL semileptonic decays. The regeneration cross section of 110 MeV/c KL mesons was found to be 53 +- 17 mb in agreement with theoretical expectations. The angular distribution of KS mesons after regeneration and the total cross section of KL for Be have been measured.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figure

    Search for rare Phi decays in pi+ pi_ gamma final state

    A search for phi radiative decays has been performed using a data sample of about 2.0 million phi decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From the selected e+ e- -> pi+ pi- gamma events the following results were obtained: B(phi -> f0(980) gamma) < 1x10-4 for destructive and B(phi -> f0(980) gamma) < 7x10-4 for constructive interference with the Bremsstrahlung process respectively, B(phi -> gamma -> pi+ pi- gamma) 20 MeV, B(phi -> rho gamma) < 7x10-4. From the selected e+ e- -> mu+ mu- gamma events B(phi -> mu+ mu- gamma) = (2.3+-1.0)x10-5 has been obtained for E of gamma> 20 MeV. The upper limit on the P,CP-violating decay eta -> pi+ pi- has also been placed: B(eta -> pi+ pi-) < 9x10-4 . All upper limits are at 90 % C.L.Comment: 18 pages, 7 figure

    Nonequilibrium Quantum Dynamics Of Disoriented Chiral Condensates

    The nonequilibrium dynamics of the chiral phase transition expected during the expansion of the quark-qluon plasma produced in a high energy hadron or heavy ion collision is studied in the O(4) linear sigma model to leading order in a large NN expansion. Starting from an approximate equilibrium configuration at an initial proper time τ\tau in the disordered phase we study the transition to the ordered broken symmetry phase as the system expands and cools. We give results for the proper time evolution of the effective pion mass, the order parameter as well as for the pion two point correlation function expressed in terms of a time dependent phase space number density and pair correlation density. We determine the phase space of initial conditions that lead to instabilities (exponentially growing long wave length modes) as the system evolves in time. These instabilities are what eventually lead to disoriented chiral condensates. In our simulations,we found that instabilities that are formed during the initial phases of the expansion exist for proper times that are at most 3fm/c3 fm/c and lead to condensate regions that do not contain large numbers of particles.     First observation of the ϕ→π+Ï€âˆ’Îł\phi\to\pi^+\pi^-\gamma decay

    Radiative decays of the ϕ\phi meson have been studied using a data sample of about 20 million ϕ\phi decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From selected e+e−→π+Ï€âˆ’Îłe^+e^-\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\gamma events the ϕ→π+Ï€âˆ’Îł\phi\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\gamma decay has been observed for the first time. \par Under the assumption that the intermediate f0(980)Îłf_{0}(980)\gamma state dominates in the ϕ→π+Ï€âˆ’Îł\phi \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma decay, the corresponding branching ratio is Br(ϕ→f0(980)Îł)=(1.93±0.46±0.50)×10−4Br(\phi\to f_{0}(980)\gamma)=(1.93\pm 0.46\pm 0.50)\times10^{-4}. \par Selected e+e−→Ό+ÎŒâˆ’Îłe^+e^-\to\mu^+\mu^-\gamma events were used to obtain Br(ϕ→Ό+ÎŒâˆ’Îł)=(1.43±0.45±0.14)×10−5Br(\phi\to\mu^+\mu^-\gamma) =(1.43\pm 0.45\pm 0.14)\times10^{-5} for EÎł>20E_{\gamma}>20 MeV. \par Using the same data sample, upper limits at 90% CL have been obtained for the C-violating decay of the ϕ\phi: Br(Ï•â†’ÏÎł)<1.2×10−5Br(\phi\to\rho\gamma) < 1.2\times10^{-5}; and for the P- and CP-violating decay of the η\eta: \par Br(η→π+π−)<3.3×10−4Br(\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-) < 3.3\times10^{-4}.Comment: 16 pages, 10 figures, Submitted to Phys.
