Realizing the supersymmetric inverse seesaw model in the framework of R-parity violation
If, on one hand, the inverse seesaw is the paradigm of TeV scale seesaw
mechanism, on the other it is a challenge to find scenarios capable of
realizing it. In this work we propose a scenario, based on the framework of
R-parity violation, that realizes minimally the supersymmetric inverse seesaw
mechanism. In it the energy scale parameters involved in the mechanism are
recognized as the vacuum expectation values of the scalars that compose the
singlet superfields and . We develop also the scalar sector
of the model and show that the Higgs mass receives a new tree-level
contribution that, when combined with the standard contribution plus loop
correction, is capable of attaining GeV without resort to heavy stops.Comment: Minor modification of the text. Final version to be published in PL
A family of rotation numbers for discrete random dynamics on the circle
We revisit the problem of well-defining rotation numbers for discrete random
dynamical systems on the circle. We show that, contrasting with deterministic
systems, the topological (i.e. based on Poincar\'{e} lifts) approach does
depend on the choice of lifts (e.g. continuously for nonatomic randomness).
Furthermore, the winding orbit rotation number does not agree with the
topological rotation number. Existence and conversion formulae between these
distinct numbers are presented. Finally, we prove a sampling in time theorem
which recover the rotation number of continuous Stratonovich stochastic
dynamical systems on out of its time discretisation of the flow.Comment: 15 page
BCG vaccination and leprosy protection: review of current evidence and status of BCG in leprosy control.
The bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine, initially developed to provide protection against TB, also protects against leprosy; and the magnitude of this effect varies. Previous meta-analyses did not provide a summary estimate of the efficacy due to the heterogeneity of the results. We conducted a meta-analysis of published data including recently published studies (up to June 2009) to determine the efficacy of BCG protection on leprosy and to investigate whether age at vaccination, clinical form, number of doses, type of study, the latitude of study area and year of publication influence the degree of efficacy and explain the variation. In the light of the results, we argue for more emphasis on the role of BCG vaccination in leprosy control and research
Terrain Database Correlation Assessment Using an Open Source Tool
Configuring networked simulators for training military teams in a distributed
environment requires the usage of a set of terrain databases to represent the
same training area. The results of simulation exercises can be degraded if the
terrain databases are poorly correlated. A number of methodologies for
determining the correlation between terrain databaHowever, there are few
computational tools for this task and most of them were developed to address
government needs, have limited availability, and handle specific digital
formats. The goal of this paper is thus to present a novel open source tool

Galaxy rotation curves from General Relativity with Renormalization Group corrections
We consider the application of quantum corrections computed using
renormalization group arguments in the astrophysical domain and show that, for
the most natural interpretation of the renormalization group scale parameter, a
gravitational coupling parameter varying of its value across a
galaxy (which is roughly a variation of per light-year) is
sufficient to generate galaxy rotation curves in agreement with the
observations. The quality of the resulting fit is similar to the Isothermal
profile quality once both the shape of the rotation curve and the mass-to-light
ratios are considered for evaluation. In order to perform the analysis, we use
recent high quality data from nine regular disk galaxies. For the sake of
comparison, the same set of data is modeled also for the Modified Newtonian
Dynamics (MOND) and for the recently proposed Scalar Tensor Vector Gravity
(STVG). At face value, the model based on quantum corrections clearly leads to

On duality of the noncommutative extension of the Maxwell-Chern-Simons model
We study issues of duality in 3D field theory models over a canonical
noncommutative spacetime and obtain the noncommutative extension of the
Self-Dual model induced by the Seiberg-Witten map. We apply the dual projection
technique to uncover some properties of the noncommutative Maxwell-Chern-Simons
theory up to first-order in the noncommutative parameter. A duality between
this theory and a model similar to the ordinary self-dual model is
estabilished. The correspondence of the basic fields is obtained and the
equivalence of algebras and equations of motion are directly verified. We also

Spontaneous CP violation in the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos
We implement the mechanism of spontaneous CP violation in the 3-3-1 model
with right-handed neutrinos and recognize their sources of CP violation. Our
main result is that the mechanism works already in the minimal version of the
model and new sources of CP violation emerges as an effect of new physics at
