    Phosphatidylethanolamine methyltransferase (PEMT) generates phosphatidylcholine (PC), the most abundant phospholipid in the mitochondria and an important acyl chain donor for cardiolipin (CL) biosynthesis. Mice lacking PEMT (PEMTKO) are cold-intolerant when fed a high-fat diet (HFD) due to unclear mechanisms.
