Exact solutions for vibrational levels of the Morse potential via the asymptotic iteration method
Exact solutions for vibrational levels of diatomic molecules via the Morse
potential are obtained by means of the asymptotic iteration method. It is shown
that, the numerical results for the energy eigenvalues of are all
in excellent agreement with the ones obtained before. Without any loss of
generality, other states and molecules could be treated in a similar way
Hadronic properties of the S_{11}(1535) studied by electroproduction off the deuteron
Properties of excited baryonic states are investigated in the context of
electroproduction of baryon resonances off the deuteron. In particular, the
hadronic radii and the compositeness of baryon resonances are studied for
kinematic situations in which their hadronic reinteraction is the dominant
contribution. Specifically, we study the reaction at for kinematics in which the produced hadronic state reinteracts
predominantly with the spectator nucleon. A comparison of constituent quark
model and effective chiral Lagrangian calculations of the shows
substantial sensitivity to the structure of the produced resonance.Comment: 24 pages, 5 figure
Measurement of B(D_s+ -> mu+ nu_mu)/B(D_s+ -> phi mu+ nu_mu) and Determination of the Decay Constant f_{D_s}
We have observed purely-leptonic decays of
from a sample of muonic one prong decay events
detected in the emulsion target of Fermilab experiment E653. Using the yield measured previously in this experiment, we obtain
. In addition, we extract the decay constant .Comment: 15 pages including one figur
Transmission of Tuberculosis with Exogenous Re-infection and Endogenous Reactivation
A theoretical framework to assess the transmission dynamics of Tuberculosis (TB) is developed. Once infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, individuals can either develop active TB or remain infected for the rest of their life unless endogenous reactivation or exogenous re-infection occurs. The effects of vaccination and treatment of active TB cases suggest that even if these control strategies could have a significant effect on reducing TB incidence, the exogenous re-infection and the endogenous reactivation, mainly due to HIV infection, will still increase the incidence of TB.endogenous reactivation, exogenous re-infection, mathematical modeling, Mycobacterium tuberculosis ,
