SU(3)-Flavor-Analysis of Nonfactorizable Contributions to DPpD \to Pp Decays

We study charm D - meson decays to two pseudoscalar mesons in Cabibbo favored mode employing SU(3)-flavor for the nonfactorizable matrix elements. Using DKˉπD\rightarrow \bar K \pi and DsKˉKD_{s} \rightarrow \bar K K to fix the reduced matrix elements, we obtain a consistent fit for η \eta and η \eta' emitting decays of DD and Ds D_{s} mesons.Comment: Latex, 13 page

    Two-Body Cabibbo-Suppressed Charmed Meson Decays

    Get PDF
Singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decays of charmed particles governed by the quark subprocesses csusˉc \to s u \bar s and cdudˉc \to d u \bar d are analyzed using a flavor-topology approach, based on a previous analysis of the Cabibbo-favored decays governed by csudˉc \to s u \bar d. Decays to PPPP and PVPV, where PP is a pseudoscalar meson and VV is a vector meson, are considered. We include processes in which η\eta and η\eta ' are produced.Comment: 18 pages, latex, 2 figures, to be submitted to Phys. Rev.

Magnetic Moments of JP=3/2+J^P=3/2^+ Heavy Baryons Using Effective Mass and Screened Charge Scheme

Magnetic moments of heavy charmed baryons with JP=3/2+J^P=3/2^+ are predicted employing the concept of effective quark mass and screened charge of quark. We also extend our scheme to predict the 3/2+>1/2+3/2^+ --> 1/2^+ transition magnetic moments. A comparison of our results with the predictions obtained in recent models is presented.Comment: 19 pages, Accepted for publication in EPJ-

Flavour structure of low-energy hadron pair photoproduction

We consider the process γγH1Hˉ2\gamma\gamma\to H_1\bar H_2 where H1H_1 and H2H_2 are either mesons or baryons. The experimental findings for such quantities as the ppˉp\bar p and KSKSK_SK_S differential cross sections, in the energy range currently probed, are found often to be in disparity with the scaling behaviour expected from hard constituent scattering. We discuss the long-distance pole--resonance contribution in understanding the origin of these phenomena, as well as the amplitude relations governing the short-distance contribution which we model as a scaling contribution. When considering the latter, we argue that the difference found for the KSKSK_SK_S and the K+KK^+K^- integrated cross sections can be attributed to the s-channel isovector component. This corresponds to the ρωa\rho\omega\to a subprocess in the VMD (vector-meson-dominance) language. The ratio of the two cross sections is enhanced by the suppression of the ϕ\phi component, and is hence constrained. We give similar constraints to a number of other hadron pair production channels. After writing down the scaling and pole--resonance contributions accordingly, the direct summation of the two contributions is found to reproduce some salient features of the ppˉp\bar p and K+KK^+K^- data.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures, revised version to be published in EPJ

Study of Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays with perturbative QCD approach

The Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays are studied with the perturbative QCD approach. It is found that form factors and branching ratios are sensitive to the parameters w, v, f_J/psi and f_etac, where w and v are the parameters of the charmonium wave functions for Coulomb potential and harmonic oscillator potential, respectively, f_J/psi and f_etac are the decay constants of the J/psi and etac mesons, respectively. The large branching ratios and the clear signals of the final states make the Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays to be the prospective channels for measurements at the hadron collidersComment: 21 pages, revtex

Final-State Phases in Charmed Meson Two-Body Nonleptonic Decays

Observed decay rates indicate large phase differences among the amplitudes for the charge states in DKˉπD \to \bar K \pi and DKˉπD \to \bar K^* \pi but relatively real amplitudes in the charge states for DKˉρD \to \bar K \rho. This feature is traced using an SU(3) flavor analysis to a sign flip in the contribution of one of the amplitudes contributing to the latter processes in comparison with its contribution to the other two sets. This amplitude may be regarded as an effect of rescattering and is found to be of magnitude comparable to others contributing to charmed particle two-body nonleptonic decays.Comment: 19 pages, latex, 4 figures, to be submitted to Phys. Radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with covariant light-front quark model

In this article, we study the radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with the covariant light-front quark model. In calculations, we observe that the radiative decay widths are sensitive to the constituent quark masses and the shape parameters of the wave-functions, and reproduce the experimental data with suitable parameters.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure

    Using the CLEO~II detector we measure B(Ds+ηe+ν)/B(Ds+ϕe+ν)=1.24±0.12±0.15{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \eta e^+\nu)/{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \phi e^+\nu) =1.24\pm0.12\pm0.15, B(Ds+ηe+ν)/B(Ds+ϕe+ν)=0.43±0.11±0.07{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \eta' e^+\nu)/{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \phi e^+\nu) =0.43\pm0.11\pm0.07 and B(Ds+ηe+ν)/B(Ds+ηe+ν)=0.35±0.09±0.07{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \eta' e^+\nu)/{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \eta e^+\nu) =0.35\pm0.09\pm0.07. We find the vector to pseudoscalar ratio, B(Ds+ϕe+ν)/B(Ds+(η+η)e+ν)=0.60±0.06±0.06{\cal B}(D_s^+\to \phi e^+\nu)/{\cal B}(D_s^+\to (\eta+\eta') e^+\nu) =0.60\pm0.06\pm0.06, which is similar to the ratio found in non strange DD decays.Comment: 11 page uuencoded postscript file, postscript file also available through http://w4.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLN
